-- Sarah (starry@themoderninter.net), April 18, 2002.

BEHIND YOU!

-- Dan Perry (djperry@post.harvard.edu), April 18, 2002.

Someone recommend some music to me; I'm bored with my mp3s.

-- Dan Perry (djperry@post.harvard.edu), April 18, 2002.

it's a test?! but i haven't revised!!

-- Wyndham Earl (wyndham_earl@hotmail.com), April 18, 2002.

Hounds of Love by Kate Bush OBVIOUSLY!

-- Sarah (starry@themoderninter.net), April 18, 2002.

"Jamie Theakston" by Supercute make me v.happy.

-- Graham (dtcd@btinternet.com), April 18, 2002.

GRAHAM!!! "Jamie Theakston" by Supercute makes me want to round up Jamie THeakston and all of Supercute and BANG THEIR HEADS TOGETHER. this is the LAST time i buy a record just because it's on a certain label (though the names of both the band and the record should have given me a clue i suppose).

-- katie (kjgrocott@yahoo.co.uk), April 18, 2002.

Well I didn't say it was good (or part with money for it).

-- Graham (dtcd@btinternet.com), April 18, 2002.

Hang on:

round up Jamie THeakston and all of Supercute and BANG THEIR HEADS TOGETHER

You romantic, you.

-- Graham (dtcd@btinternet.com), April 18, 2002.

Katie, you MENTALIST! I can't believe you bought that record.

-- RickyT (boyofbadgers@yahoo.com), April 18, 2002.

I am disgusted anyone has even heard of such a record. Are you all indieists or something?

-- Tom (ebros@netcomuk.co.uk), April 18, 2002.

My name is Richard and I am an indieist.

Hadn't heard of the record until Graham mentioned it, mind.

-- RickyT (boyofbadgers@yahoo.com), April 18, 2002.

Which label was it on anyway?

-- RickyT (boyofbadgers@yahoo.com), April 18, 2002.

I only know it because it's allegedly sung by a member of Helen Love.

I think this answers your question.

-- Graham (dtcd@btinternet.com), April 18, 2002.

It's all turned TWEEMO.

-- Sarah (starry@themoderninter.net), April 18, 2002.

blimey. it's on ELEFANT RECORDS of espana. *shuffles off in indie shame*

-- katie (kjgrooctt@yahoo.co.uk), April 18, 2002.

DAN!

Download Cassius-La Mouche (DJ Falcon remix) Audio Galaxy should have it and it's french housetastic. I guarantee you will like it.

Graham, Thursday, 18 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

[I think was more of this, but I didn't save it]

Graham, Thursday, 18 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

[hope this doesn't offend anyone]

Graham, Thursday, 18 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Cheers for that, Graham. I want to hear more about Kate Bush. I keep putting her on compilations and people keep looking at me funny.

Mark C, Thursday, 18 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah thanks Graham, there was a very good reason for deleting the thread and it had to be done very quickly (and no it wasnt the obvious reason) so I couldn't just edit out the supercute bits.

That said you are still an indieist.

Tom, Thursday, 18 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't mind Supercute because they remind me of Helen Love, who are sporadically ace, natch. It is not shameful to love Elefant Records! They're less schmindie than most labels of their ilk.

electric sound of jim, Thursday, 18 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

wtf?

Mr Noodles, Thursday, 18 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Tom, have you seen the other 102 Beats That entries? The reviews are alright but blimey charlXor, those records: "suckrock" "krautrock" "[I promise you this isn't just another name for college radio dirge] rock". My review is rub though.

Right now I am listening to Louise's Stuck in the Middle With You, and enjoying it immensely. UMTV "Girls Say..."= Best album EVAH! Me want do FT article.

Graham, Thursday, 18 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

[I didn't mean to single anyone out there, or be nasty]

Well I didn't say it was good

Having listened to it again, I unreservedly withdraw this statement and wish Katie to be SQUISHED unless she gives in. Anyway, recommend more toy keyboard power pop please.

Graham, Thursday, 18 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

MOGUL!

(Elefant seems to have the market cornered with that stuff)

electric sound of jim, Thursday, 18 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Graham - yeah a Girls Say review would be good, I'm considering buying Emma it for her birthday.

The 102 Entries are pretty diverse I think even if they do tend away from the pop end of the scale - they probably get more so, though.

Tom, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

!!!!! well you can try squishing me if you're feeling particularly SUICIDAL Graham, but the results would NOT be pretty. ain't NO-ONE messed with the vegan stomper boots and come out victorious :)

katie, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Katie speaks the truth. Her Moomin wielding skillz are second to none.

RickyT, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm very confused...I have that poxy supercute single...It's on Damaged Goods...if anyone wants it...just e-mail.

jel --, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Purchase of 'Girls Say' as birthday gift = instantly being crossed off my list of chums. The same applies to any other album with 'girl' or 'woman' in the title ALL RIGHT. (Cue long list of albums that are quite good with girl / woman in the title.)

Emma, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

MAN, I miss the Moomin. I think I might need a custody visit.

Sarah, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

"man, I feel like a woman"

jel --, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

way to make every merrit song funny/ier, replace "moon" with "moomin".

Alan Trewartha, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

But Emma it's 40 Botox-pumpin' girly classics!

Tom, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

But Tom I will punch you very hard in a most ungirly way if this FEEBLE EXCUSE for a birthday gift is purchased for me. And I will change it the next day anyway.

Emma, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Didn't someone suggest urinal cakes back in august? To finally solve the mystery for you.

Ronan, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

As if it's not bad enough that I am heading towards my late twenties - ka Botoxland - I am being forced to celebrate with urinal cakes and appallingly crap compilations.

Emma, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Emma as a fellow Taurean who will shortly NO LONGER be able to claim "early twenties" as her age without it being a big fat lie i sympathise. Emma wants SHOE VOUCHERS, O INSENSITIVE MEN!! (as do i hehehe)

katie, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Or Botox vouchers. Or foot scrub from the Body Shop. Or some new perfume.

Emma, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I might be able to rustle up some botulism from the bowl I discovered in my room this morning. Will that do?

RickyT, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I might be able to rustle up some botulism from the bowl I discovered in my room this morning. Will that do?

i refer you all to my comments on the "Spring Cleaning" thread...

katie, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I am now scared to get drunk on my birthday (and it's a Friday this year too! yay!) in case RickyT appears wielding a syringe full of botulism and in my weakened state I consent to DIY botox.

Alan Trewartha, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Moomin, a dancing Moomin!

RickyT, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

"Dancing" is a bit of an exaggeration surely.

Tom, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Tom, that thing is doing a slow-motion version of the Running Man. (The Running Moomin?)

Dan Perry, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

ain't you heard o "the moominwalk" dance move as pioneered by michael "moomin" jackson?

Alan Trewartha, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Nah, that's Moomin dancing alright. How else are you supposed to groove to one of Snufkin's songs apart from doing a weird kind of head bob/walk on the spot type thing?

RickyT, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I should also point out that when my favorite mid-tempo jam hits the decks, I've been known to do a dance similar to that.

Dan Perry, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i am so happy :)

happy glee joy, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Indeed? Nice horns you must have, Dan.
