Tom, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

OK some of them aren't.

Tom, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

is this a girls-say style prank? (Though many of them are perfect)

Alan Trewartha, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Emma to thread.

Tom, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Are Sister 2 Sister from the popular US sitcom Sister Sister? (never knew how much I missed ya)

Sarah, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Well That's Phase II (Of DUEL Sorted Then)

Jeff W, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Just Kidding (I like A Lot Of These Too)

Jeff W, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

The Jakatta and Lolly examples (possibly others too, but they're the ones I'm certain about) are covers. Are you saying that the original versions were imperfect in some way and that Jakatta and Lolly improved upon the originals?

MarkH, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Whaddya want me for? I am engaged in a very tiresome geographical exercise at work and don't know what I am supposed to make of all this. Though I like a lot of those songs. But would not want a compilation of them entitled ALL WOMAN (though obviously not all of them are women e.g. boys in S Club).

Emma, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i nearly imploded with RAGE till i realised that Tom is playing a Prank and is a Very Bad Man...

katie, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

and Jakatta is a bloke studio boffin with some bird sampled from the 80s for vocals. (yes?)

Alan Trewartha, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

a-33, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I think you need some Motown on that list!

A-Teens = RoXor!!

jel --, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

A prank???? 18 of them are really good. (And some of the others I've not heard).

Tom, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I have to admit that I do know every song on this list!

jel --, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't know the Honeyz one and the Sister 2 Sister and the Dannii and a cpl of others.

Tom, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

When the william orbit bleeps from Pure Shores drops in on Intro- inspection my heart leaps.

Alan Trewartha, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Sister 2 Sister = not the US sitcom people...they are twins though.

jel --, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Tom? Kaci 'I think I love you' ????

At least go for the Voice of The Beehive version.

Anna, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Kaci is one of the 18 - supa-sugary! VOTB = panto dames in comparison.

Tom, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Lee Ann "she's described as country and I'm not sure why" Rimes. Mind you, I've only heard "How do I live". So possibly I haven't.

MarkH, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

lived, I mean.

MarkH, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

No! No! She's bland and awful and evily sanitised!

Give me panto dames any day.

Anna, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Mark H jump in - I meant Kaci.

Anna, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Tom, 18 out of 40 = less that 50% = Must Try Harder!

katie, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

an i wuv Nu Shooz. stoopid Ladies First. let's all stomp on a cover version! (It'll be like the Radio 6 bulletin board)

Alan Trewartha, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Tom when I next see you I will sing you the Honeyz and Dannii (as a punishment for involving me in this thread, har har). The Dannii one is a good gym song. The Honeyz are not as feisty as they think they are. I believe the vid for that particular song featured some rather saucy outfits e.g. rubber etc.

Emma, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Kaci = Song I pretty much bought it for, as single = £4.99

The Honeyz song sounds better than it did on original release because the production style it "borrows" from is no longer all over the radio.

MarkH: Stuck In the Middle With You, Land Of Make Believe and Emotion are also covers. More Than A Woman sadly not.

Graham, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't have any major problem with about 20 percent of it, I like about another 30 percent, and then there's half of it that I'd set on fire happily.

Ronan, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Having said that I'd kill to hear any one of them right now because I don't have my discman (stayed on campus last night) and I need some music to listen to incredibly badly. So eh if anyone has any suggestions for quick rhythmic fixes which don't involve music then go right ahead.

Ronan, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

"quick rhythmic fixes which don't involve music" => ronan the answer is built into yr name

mark s, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Bad Mark S. Bad Bad Bad.

Graham, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't understand.

AND! I just saw Jakatta Ever So Lonely. Yes. Just about yes.

Ronan, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

...and god became terrible angry, like, when Onan spilt his seed upon th'ground...

RickyT, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

honestly if there are any more Very Bad Man on this board then frankly it won't be fun pointing them out any more...

katie, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

piss flaps

Alan Trewartha, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

You could try calling them Bad bad MANGS and then SQUISH SQUISH SQUISH them.

Graham, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

very bad MENG Graham!!!!!!

GRAMMAR QUENE, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I think we should delgue Emma with CD-Rs chock full of classic girly pop.

Dan Perry, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh bugger.

Emma, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

(It's better than Ethan fisting you, anyway.)

Britmuh, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

AHEM. You are rude.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

(I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not. Was that really rude? I thought it was funny. If not I apologize profusely.)

Britmuh, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

(Because umm remember when Ethan was talking about ... and then he said ... I mean it's not like it was my idea.)

Britmuh, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

It's only rude if you don't ask politely first.

Dan Perry, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

nitsuh abebe you tart!

ethan, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

bithmuth why izh yr name become all mumbley?

mark s, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

He's Arseface!

Daver, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

FEAR GOOGLE!

Dan Perry, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I wasn't being serious, but now that I know you can fall prey to my powers of manipulation, all is well.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

(Mark: I can't decide what to do with it so I am giving up, mostly.)

So anyway the only girly pop Emma should be deluged with is France Gall.

Pikabatsushikoitsuh, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

(I fear that the DDR remix has turned Nitsuh into a Pokemon with a Dancing Fist attack.)

Dan Perry, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I wasn't being serious, but now that I know you can fall prey to my powers of manipulation, all is well.

Ned, falling prey to your own delusional state, I see....;>

Nichole Graham, Friday, 19 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

four months pass...

Graham (graham), Tuesday, 27 August 2002 00:54 (twenty-three years ago)

felicity (felicity), Tuesday, 27 August 2002 01:26 (twenty-three years ago)
