In long ago times "uncle bukowski" was the option, but now it's just like 39-45.
Keep in mind it's football season and also I work 2pm - 10pm. Whatever. Everybody on ILX already thinks of me as The Drunk Mod, I don't give a fuck. Ask anybody who was in brooklyn a month ago!

i recently bumped up my intake to 2-3 cocktails per day,very rarely do i skip a day. this is a new development in the last 6 months, i used to take 2-3 days off a week. on the plus side i almost never binge.

For the internet record, I'm a steady pace of 3-4 per weekday, 5-6 per weekend, aka riggimslaggim

I've become much less militant about my not drinking as years have progressed. I do drink very very occasionally, but it probably averages out to <5 units a year.

My ancient, creaking body can't handle much more than I drink now, I get worrisome pains in my kidneys if I have a heavy week.

probably 8-14, which is pleasing. three years ago it'd have been something rather more hellish.

all of mine is Saturday and Sunday, pretty much. v seldom drink during the week apart from the odd beer with dinner.

Yeah I frequently have 10 or 11 on a Friday and 4 or 5 on a Saturday and if I'm not going out mid-week, like to a gig or something, I'll probably not drink at all in between, maybe 1 or 2 beers.

1-7, though it can vary sharply from week to week. In my more heroic moments I can reach Tombot heights of drinkery, but those are really, really, really seldom.

I'm on the 22-28 mark now, I think, most weeks. Slipping into the catchment area above on big weeks.

Not so long ago it was the case that I pretty much never went a day without a beer, it's a lifestyle that's very easy to slip into, especially in a job like mine where there are lots of drinking opportunities. Now I tend to confine bouzing to the weekends and maybe one weeknight, but I don't drink any more on those occasions than I used to.

Although I tend to stick to beer around the 4.5% mark.

i've really changed up and am in the 1-7 category now. even if i go crazy one night, i'm still not gonna pass that number, and then probably won't drink again for a week. i'm old and tired. drinking is hard.

1-7 though have had a few extra this week so maybe 12. that's very unusual for me. i spilled beer on the keyboard of my work computer! (note, my boss gave me the beer and everyone in the office was drinking due to debate night)

You should recalculate your average weekly drinking, then. Something is off, because I believe that the reasoning behind my drunken correlation of 15-21 drinks per week to owning 3 or more Billy Joel albums is unimpeachable.

I drink a quarter to half a bottle of wine a night, sometimes preceded by a gin and tonic or scotch. I've haven't gone out much the last three weekends. Drinking lots of gin has made Sunday mornings devastating.

I guess 15-21 is probably right. And I do have 2 billy joel cassettes lurking somewhere in my mother's basement, I think -- Storm Front and some sort of greatest hits. I loved Storm Front a bunch when I was like 12.

I drink constantly and i never know when i've had too much because i never remember anything towards the end of the night!
Good thing is i'm on tablets for sleep and feeling like shit etc and i can't really drink while having them.

prob 26-31 area, more or less relegated to weekends. some wine with dinner during the week, though.

8-10 this week but probably 4-6 usually now. I've been cutting back because as I get older (mid-30s isn't that old rlly) the less I feel like drinking to excess and also like Will I don't want to get fat like my dad. I've probably lost 5 lbs in the last couple of months just from cutting my alcohol intake.

I drink approx 2 gallons MILK per week fwiw.

And I have to say the worst hangover-type thing I've had from a potable was when I drank half a gallon of milk in one sitting (~20 minutes). Has anyone here ever tried the "gallon challenge"? We'd do it at church camp all the time, like 13 years ago or more, so I was surprised to read this:

I've been on mine for so long I can't remember what the difference is anymore. I don't think I ever really noticed one though tbh.

i started taking SSRI's before I started drinking regularly, so I don't really know what it would be like if I didn't take an SSRI.
I do know however that beer is pretty cool and I would drink all this glasses of milk. Whole milk, even, no lie.

I bought a 5 liter case of box wine last week and im still drinking it. Just limiting to two glasses an evening so i dont get a wine hangover..

Drink about 5 days a week but some of those days are only 1-2 glasses, the others maybe 4-5 glasses, I never binge the way I used to any more, I cant handle it. Also I water all my wine down to make it last longer.

SSRIs made me not feel drunk but do stupid drunk shit after not many drinks, or suddenly hit a messy ceiling of OH GODS I AM VERY MUCH TOO DRUNK without any warning before my usual "whoa, I'd better knock this off... (but, hmm, maybe just one more, right?)" point.

SSRIs + booze + weed = convinced I'm not getting any effect of last two (though I often have this with the smokes anyway), while actually becoming a jitter (ok, it was caffeinated booze I drank back then, this might explain that) of impulsive asshattery. Blackouts interspersed with embarrassing snapshot memories ensue, possible convinced-of-own-imminent-death panic breakdown later. Fun times!

averaging out it's about 2 bottles of beer a month, so I'm choosing 0 because 1-7 a week is way off.

its SSRIs? i thought it was a fucked up liver - this happens to me too. cold sober to sloppy drunk in 15 minutes.

well, i guess the four + shots i start with might need to take a little blame.

I average around the Billy Joel mark or the money filling coffers levels. And I dunno that I've knowingly heard a Billy Joel song, let alone own any. So I guess I should vote for coffers? Which would only be honest because my average three months ago was more in the Connie Chung range.
