Yep, Layo and Bushwacka and Mr Scruff are the two that I'd be interested in.

Tickets go on sale on Monday 22nd.

John Peel appeared last year, playing his 'Home Truths' set.

I hope everyone will find time to visit Barcelona's legendary TARKUS bar, located on Avinyó Street. It's usually closed, but still.

After attending Sonar 2002------->my impressions...

This is no more underground then any other festival in Europe, but stillthere are some fundamental differences: - this year the whole new Sony catalogue was represented among spectators and music-freaks...( hip hipper hipst !!) - Gucci rules ! ( a contradictory understatement) or was it fake?( an ongoing discussion with no end !..) - The music on Sonar noche was awfully monotonistic, I even did not bother to go to the last Noche, The Gigolo-party in the Loft (Dj Hell) was 100 times more interesting. - a huge promotional campaignfor Final Scratch (Stanton-needles) just flushed down the drain coz of technical problems !! Bravo to all marketing-people !! they know their job (Uhum uhum)

- Sonar day was Extremely good, respects to Lali puna, Audiopéru, Kotai, Highfish, Isan, and all the other musicloved !!!

have to leave u, but pics will follow soon !!!

greetings from the continent !

I FUCKING HATED SONAR! Just came home from Barcelona, and the only time i went to Sonar by night was vriday for 30 minutes, it was awful. 10.000 people in 4 big halls. The club La Terazza was 25 times better and the club Moog and liquid, so if anyone ia going to Barcelona go there!!! Sonar by night sucks!

to dickie...

I agree with you but we must admit that in the day time, music was excellent and at night there are many many alternatives ! It has become big biGger BiGGeSt !!

somehow i enjoyed sonar 2001 more than i did 2002, but still the day events were outstanding, imho. on top of the good and sometimes great music, you get great weather, can enjoy a lovely crowd, and hey, if it's getting way too hot you can always walk up to the beach. ,-)

you're all fools. sonar rocks every year. sonar consists of more than just the festival - its about the atmosphere and all the other stuff that happens when sonar hits town. no one should go to the festival itself 24-7, get out there and check the label parties, the clubs, the bars, the art, the tech showcases, the record fair - all the additional stuff that sonar is, away from the dancefloor...

It was great, not least cos barcelona has some of the best cheap food on the planet, anyone who didn't walk over to Cal Pep was a fule, or didn't know of its greatness. Also 6Euro 3 course lunches the city over. The festy itself was great, ISAN and Lali Puna the highlights.

I have a feeling Neil Tennant was so happybouncy at the PSB's gig 'cos they knew Sitges was an hour away. Apparently this place is Spain's version of Fire Island.

I'd never been to Barcelona (or Spain) before and loved the food and the whole festival, which I spent trying to lay hands on *own* 'chocolate' supply and got the closest thing I've ever had to a tan. Ed's friend Ivan took us to Cal Pep and then we took friends there after the Engerland/Denmark game, but ate a couple of meals that were 'default' (as in 'I can't say anything but steak and chips, aaaargh!').

Now I'm even more jealous of Suzy. *cries*

three weeks pass...
SonAR is an arts festival people, remember that, It also happends to showcase the biggest, the obscure, the abstract and yet the popular names in ELECTRONIC music, all sorts, all I have to say is that Barcelona is one of the coolest cities in the world, and that the atmosphere during SONAR by day was extremely cool, cause you got to see all sort of folks from different place, enjoying music, for me, It was worth it, paying a trip from Mexico City, where I happened to live, to not only enjoy sonar, but a whole more different things that Barcelona has to offer, I agree that SOnar by night is not the highlight of the FESTIVAl, still if you can and you enjoy electronic music in the majority of its forms, you wont be dissapointed, to ever attend, long live SONAR
