what year is that one? bcz it totally lacks all the things that made the 5k groundbreaking? the weird flush windows held on by smoothed down buttons? the rounded contours? (my parents had a 84 or 85 that looked very different to the one above)

Not to be a naysayer (I heart Audis), but beware of maintenance costs. Yeah, yeah, everybody knows Euro imports are more expensive to repair, but Audis truly are on a level of their own. I had to sell my '96 A4 when the transmission went b/c of obcsene the replacement costs. At least that 5000 is old enough so that you won't have to pay your local dealer $180 a pop for digital diagnostic checks. And any given piece of plastic you need to replace, no matter how seemingly insignificant, should cost you at least $200. That said, I'd buy another Audi in a heartbeat if I were making enough money to roll with the punches. They drive like a fucking dream.

btw, if the above post came across as overly authoritative and cynical, I also meant to say: beautiful goddam car man! Seriously, finding those vintage models in immaculate condition is a true rarity. Myself, I'd go for a 70s/80s Mercedes Turbo-Diesel w/ hubcaps matching the original body color. They can be purchased inexpensively, get phenomonal mpg & last forever!
