You can't watch BBC news in the US?

Any cook should be able to run the country. (Ned Trifle II), Friday, 3 October 2008 16:38 (sixteen years ago)

pbs should be on there too but who cares cause the obv answer is MSNBC

joe six pak (ice crӕm), Friday, 3 October 2008 16:39 (sixteen years ago)

no PBS, no credibility

gabbneb, Friday, 3 October 2008 16:41 (sixteen years ago)

individually, I gotta go with Halperin and Todd (obvs), but the best "BEST POLITICAL NEWS TEAM ON TELEVISION" at this point is CNN, I think. i can do without one or two of them, but they have such a healthy vibe compared to MSNBC, and less bullshit. Campbell Brown doesn't hurt. admittedly, i did work for them once upon a time, but they wouldn't have gotten my vote until recently.

gabbneb, Friday, 3 October 2008 16:43 (sixteen years ago)

CNN. I prefer at least a pretense of objectivity in my news.

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Friday, 3 October 2008 17:35 (sixteen years ago)

That sockpuppet kid.

Alex in SF, Friday, 3 October 2008 17:35 (sixteen years ago)

I can deal with the Newshour (and the BBC News they produce for US consumption). The rest of these networks are nearly unwatchable.

Alex in SF, Friday, 3 October 2008 17:40 (sixteen years ago)

duuudes gabbs tell us abt yr cnn tenure!

joe six pak (ice crӕm), Friday, 3 October 2008 17:43 (sixteen years ago)

traded a few tapes with wolf blitzer

goole, Friday, 3 October 2008 17:46 (sixteen years ago)

que Dieu nous sauve

Univision FTW

claudia schefter (daria-g), Saturday, 4 October 2008 04:13 (sixteen years ago)

i prefer to merely observe the babe arm's race between all these networks...

ryan, Saturday, 4 October 2008 04:24 (sixteen years ago)

MSNBC duh

i don't get my news from there so i dont care about their objectivity

You can't watch BBC news in the US?

we get a 1/2-hr program nightly that is mildly useful for world news coverage (hourlong BBC World Service radio moreso), but is hardly the place to go for domestic political coverage or any comparison to wall-to-wall US cable talking heads.

gabbneb, Saturday, 4 October 2008 04:36 (sixteen years ago)

Uh - the best fucking news team in the universe ever. The Daily Show.

Mordy, Saturday, 4 October 2008 04:46 (sixteen years ago)

CNN has wolf blitzer and larry king. In summary, CNN should go die in a fire.

El Tomboto, Saturday, 4 October 2008 05:09 (sixteen years ago)

I voted other, mainly because of aasif mandvi.

El Tomboto, Saturday, 4 October 2008 05:09 (sixteen years ago)

he reminds me of my friend neal, who made me "honorary chocolate" in college.

El Tomboto, Saturday, 4 October 2008 05:10 (sixteen years ago)

seriously though whether campbell brown is a trendsetter re: giving some worthless flack like tucker bounds the 1-2 on live tv, any points gained by having one or two competent individuals are revoked by keeping blitzer on the payroll. king, ok, I can kind of understand playing to the 7th-grade dropout crowd. Blitzer is a worthless, worthless, worthless, frankly insulting bag of rocks.

El Tomboto, Saturday, 4 October 2008 05:15 (sixteen years ago)

Larry King is not part of the political team; he is a separate universe.

I don't big-up Campbell Brown because of blogosphere-theatrics, and certainly not because of Dan Senor

gabbneb, Saturday, 4 October 2008 05:23 (sixteen years ago)

Wolf Blitzer is the upper middle class Jewish Jim Lehrer

gabbneb, Saturday, 4 October 2008 05:25 (sixteen years ago)

actually, all the best people on CNN don't work for CNN

gabbneb, Saturday, 4 October 2008 05:26 (sixteen years ago)

honestly, any team w/ Chuck Todd on it wins, but I've just gotten a little tired of the rest of the NBC folks.

gabbneb, Saturday, 4 October 2008 05:30 (sixteen years ago)

Chuck Todd and Norah O'Donnell do not a team make, so despite loving them with all my being I had to go with CNN.

Johnny Fever, Saturday, 4 October 2008 05:36 (sixteen years ago)

john king is pretty good as a chuck todd jr on cnn

cnn doesn't have a maddow though

a passion for posting (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 4 October 2008 05:37 (sixteen years ago)

cnn can't afford a maddow. their dedication to mediocrity is a cashflow issue.

El Tomboto, Saturday, 4 October 2008 05:51 (sixteen years ago)

I don't big-up Campbell Brown because of blogosphere-theatrics

well to my mind that leaves 2 options that separate her from the rest of the herd of goats:

1. you would blap?
2. she blaps a bland hack?

El Tomboto, Saturday, 4 October 2008 05:53 (sixteen years ago)

Note that I went out of my way to not actually call you a bland hack

El Tomboto, Saturday, 4 October 2008 05:54 (sixteen years ago)

cnn has better mid-day anchors actually

they have a guy on during the day whose name i cannot remember (black guy) who is better than whichever faceless blonde does the msnbc mid-day stuff

a passion for posting (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 4 October 2008 05:55 (sixteen years ago)

all I need to know about CNN is how coop went out of his way to prove himself worthy of a field correspondent job and they immediately found a way to chain him to a desk so he could help carry the imperial crest of dishwater

El Tomboto, Saturday, 4 October 2008 05:55 (sixteen years ago)

for an all-star team i'd take maddow, todd, colbert, letterman, joy behar and diddy. and pat buchanan just to rile up the rest of them.

tipsy mothra, Saturday, 4 October 2008 05:57 (sixteen years ago)

Wolf Blitzer is the upper middle class Jewish Jim Lehrer

all I need to know about gabbneb country is that it is a place where this sentence makes sense

El Tomboto, Saturday, 4 October 2008 05:57 (sixteen years ago)

pat buchanan brings heat

a passion for posting (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 4 October 2008 05:58 (sixteen years ago)

why would you take pat buchanan when biweekly glenn beck guest The Nuge is available?

El Tomboto, Saturday, 4 October 2008 05:58 (sixteen years ago)

nevermind nuge, i'd take glenn beck himself. but he'd be in a cage, naked.

tipsy mothra, Saturday, 4 October 2008 05:59 (sixteen years ago)

and slavering.

tipsy mothra, Saturday, 4 October 2008 06:00 (sixteen years ago)

(anyway the nuge will be busy in his new weekly hunting show with sarah palin. next week: ted 'n' sarah vs. bighorn rams in heat!)

tipsy mothra, Saturday, 4 October 2008 06:01 (sixteen years ago)

cnn can't afford a maddow. their dedication to mediocrity is a cashflow issue

You think Blitzer and King make less than she does?

If Timi Yuro would be still alive, most other singers could shut up, Saturday, 4 October 2008 07:47 (sixteen years ago)

Joe Pinot (rockapads), Saturday, 4 October 2008 07:54 (sixteen years ago)
