I am totally addicted to 24. I think it's the most exciting series I have ever seen in my life. I will not rest till next Sunday

N., Monday, 22 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Has anyone video-ed the early episodes of this? I dont have a TV but I will soon and it sounds really good, but I bet it's impossible to get into a third of the way through.

Tom, Monday, 22 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i got bored with the kidnap girly bitz

a-33, Monday, 22 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Keeping addiction at bay, but dabbling dangerously in the 19th century's answer to Hollyoaks, The Forsyte Saga...

Is it me, or are there NO morally sympathetic characters in this programme?

Archel, Monday, 22 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i got bored with the kidnap girly bitz.

a-33, Monday, 22 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

24 sucks. It's all about Gilmore Girls.

adam, Monday, 22 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

There was only one real girly kidnap episode and I liked it anyway. One of them is dead now anyway.

You have missed two big back-to-back catch up sessions, Tom. I fear you will have to wait for a complete rerun on BBC Choice or summat (which, at the moment, shows the next week's episode directly after the BBC2 showing. Wheee! It's 9AM

N., Monday, 22 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

forsyte saga - you are right, tho up until last night i liked soames. the plot devices [artist just happens to be in club, near bridge etc] and the dreadful dialogue/silences don't work.

the new house tho - looks wrong

a-33, Monday, 22 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Ha, I watched last nite's (7-8am) (it was the best so far, no silly gadgets and proper suspense) THEN I TURNED OVER TO BBC CHOICE AND WATCHED THE NEXT EPISODE = I ROOL.

Alan Trewartha, Monday, 22 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

The only real problem is that I don't give a toss about this Palmer fella.

N., Monday, 22 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I got loads of stick last night for watching the Forsyte Saga. I hate my friends. And while the characters may be immoral, the hats are great.

I am also watching: all soaps, Bad Girls, Pop World, Cutting It, THE TRUTH ABOUT GAY ANIMALS tonight!

Emma, Monday, 22 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Absolutely. Who needs morals when you've got hats? (That sounds like it should be a song from a musical.)

And who needs ANTHING else when you've got 'The Truth About Gay Animals'? I can't WAIT!

Archel, Monday, 22 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I got into 24 on Episode 6. It rocks.

Pete, Monday, 22 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh I forgot the Inspector Nummy Mysteries on tonight BBC1 8:30 after Stenders. Num num.

Emma, Monday, 22 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i have all of episodes 1-8 on video...

toby, Monday, 22 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

how great iz Emma

a-33, Monday, 22 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

That's a question that keeps me awake at nights.

Emma, Monday, 22 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I worked it out years ago. The answer is "not very".

Pete, Monday, 22 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I've all but stopped watching X-files but last night was a shocker. The lone gunmen dead! who would've guessed.

Samantha, Monday, 22 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah well I am great enough not to talk with my mouth full of food aren't I Baran? Unlike SOME PEOPLE.

Emma, Monday, 22 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Hmmm shall I get pizza tonight whilst watching the telly?

Sarah, Monday, 22 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

No, I will eat pasta.

Sarah, Monday, 22 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i already know the truth about gay animals

mark s, Monday, 22 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

DO YOU NOW. Share!

Ned Raggett, Monday, 22 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I am still larfing over "Look at the lesbian gannets!"

Tom, Monday, 22 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Going back to the initial question (I drifted away from 24 after two episodes, for no clear reason): Charmed, American Wrestling, football (I must be giving a fantastic impression so far), Simpsons, Futurama, Malcolm in the Middle, Room 101, Cutting It, Mark Thomas, Buffy, TOTP, Have I Got News For You, The Book Group, Frasier, Later sometimes (Patti Smith this week), plus some films - Film Four has the magnificent La Grande Illusion and La Bete Humaine tomorrow and Wednesday, two great representatives from one of my favourite director actor pairs, Renoir and Gabin, which I like as much as Kurosawa/Mifune or Hawks/Grant.

Martin Skidmore, Monday, 22 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

24, Real World/Road Rules BATTLE OF THE SEASONS (Holy Holly may be one of the most psychotic people to ever be on an MTV reality show), The Real World Chicago (Cara is another crazy kitty), The Osbournes, Saturday Night Live, WTA/ATP tennis coverage (YAY CLAY COURT SEASON), X-Men: Evolution, MST3K, Malcolm In The Middle, That 70's Show, The Bernie Mac Show.

Dan Perry, Monday, 22 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

CSI. even that 70 show can go to hell, just gimme grissom doing his wisdom comments

Chupa-Cabras, Monday, 22 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I am watching Scrubs. I love it and I love fake Becky.

Mark C, Monday, 22 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

anyway, 24 is clearly the most exciting thing EVER and how i will manage to wait another 16 weeks til the end is a bit of a mystery (and tom, if you want to borrow the early episodes, let me know). also tend to watch the simpsons if i'm in, buffy, and err that's about it.

toby, Monday, 22 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Shows I watch: Neighbours; Popworld; Smack Down...All human life in three programmes.

jel --, Monday, 22 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

when someoen earlier said 'gilmore girls' they had it right, even if they did have the unfortunate incident where they praised Mojo during the show. but then they made up for it with a sub-plot involving a belle and sebastian single. i am going to watch the last four x-files episodes where, allegedly, everything is going to be answered and yet they are going to make movies after the show ends so i guess they can't give away everything. malcolm in the middle is great too. everything else is dreck.

keith, Tuesday, 23 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

This week I'm watching the Eco-challenge. I hate the way the footage has been slicked together though.

Kim, Tuesday, 23 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I only like the Osbournes.

Ally, Tuesday, 23 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

24 rocks my socks. You Brits are like 12 hours behind though. The Osbournes is pretty good as well. 5,000 times more interesting then any Real World cast of teen models.

bnw, Tuesday, 23 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

The truth about gay animals was rub. Too much Scott Capurro and not enough truth.

RickyT, Wednesday, 24 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i liked where the scientist said: "I proved this sheep was gay and so here is its BRANE!!" *SC flinches*

Also the Attenborough quote: "A female dolphin buzzes another dolphin's genitals"... the word i got right there is "BUZZES"!!!

Also the gay dog story: "Did you really shoot your wife's dog because it was gay?" "No, that's just what the police thought I said: I shot it because my wife is a lezzer..." *SC expressionless*

But yes it was basically pitiful.

mark s, Wednesday, 24 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Now I don't feel so bad about falling asleep and missing it. I think I have some form of sleep illness as I am always asleep lately.

I forgot AS IF & POPULAR - weekends wouldn't be the same without them.

Emma, Wednesday, 24 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

seven months pass...
Did anyone just watch Tomorrow, La Scala! on BBC2? Fuck that was good.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 10 December 2002 22:43 (twenty-two years ago)

No one?

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 11 December 2002 09:18 (twenty-two years ago)

I videoed it because I wa swatching Jamie and then Renee, but my BBC2 reception is really poor so it may be unwatchable.

Graham (graham), Wednesday, 11 December 2002 14:26 (twenty-two years ago)

the documentary about extreme ironing (extremeironing.com) was as interesting as any other sports program i've seen this year.

jamie oliver is, i think, going after ozzy osbourne's 'most swearing on tv' title.

koogs, Wednesday, 11 December 2002 14:46 (twenty-two years ago)

If they're on...: The Simpsons, King of the Hill, Seinfeld, Trading Spaces, While you were Out, That 70s show, Frasier, The Daily Show, Saturday Night Live, Conan O'Brien (has been having good musical guests lately)... But mostly I just keep it on Much Music and occasionally MTV.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Wednesday, 11 December 2002 15:27 (twenty-two years ago)

WHY can't I find anyone else that likes The Shield? It's great!

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Wednesday, 11 December 2002 15:33 (twenty-two years ago)

I started a thread about The Shield, but someone soon pointed out that I meant The Badge. You may not.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 11 December 2002 18:59 (twenty-two years ago)

I refer to The Daily Show w/ Jon Stewart as "the news".

Other than that, I only ever watch Futurama & The Simpsons, and occasionally my little sister will tape 'Adult Swim' for me off of Cartoon Network. That shit is hilarious. I like 'Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law" the best, prob'ly.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 11 December 2002 19:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Boston Bruins Hockey games, Seinfeld, Soprano's, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Real World, Osbournes, FM Nation, Simpsons, Dog Days, SNL, CNBC, FOXNEWS, CNN.

Chris V. (Chris V), Wednesday, 11 December 2002 19:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, yes. Forgot Futurama!

I liked Curb Your Enthusiasm when I saw it that time I got HBO for free for a while.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Wednesday, 11 December 2002 21:16 (twenty-two years ago)

I watched it and it was really good Nick. Do you have anything to add?

Graham (graham), Thursday, 12 December 2002 14:44 (twenty-two years ago)

I had some things I was thinking when I was watching it, but it seems too much like hard work to try to turn them into a coherent critical appraisal now. I'm just surprised no one else watched it - it was very well previewed for a single drama.

After it finished, they showed a trailer for next week's play, featuring Emma Thompson dying of cancer, with Belle & Sebastian's Storytelling soundtrack over it. I wonder if that was just for the trailer.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 12 December 2002 14:48 (twenty-two years ago)

one year passes...
I wonder if it is possible to justify Celebrity Place in the Sun on any grounds whatsoever.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 6 August 2004 10:05 (twenty-one years ago)

two months pass...
I am going to watch Sex Traffic in a minute.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 14 October 2004 18:50 (twenty-one years ago)

I tivo Lost and Dead Like Me, but that's about it foor new programs. I may start recording Veronica Mars, but I keep forgetting.

milozauckerman (miloaukerman), Thursday, 14 October 2004 18:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Ova in Portugal: RTP2 is showing nu-"Sopranos" and the 2nd season of "24", whilst the dubiously titled SIC Radical shows month-old "Daily Show" eps and also has a kickass retro schedule featuring 1st season "Buffy"", "Seinfeld", "Star Trek: The Next Generation", "Parker Lewis Can't Lose", "Lum", "The Office" and "Twin Peaks". Then on weekends there's Conan on MSNBC and SIC Gold showing unhealthy amounts of "Cheers" and "All In The Family", plus nu-Turtles on regular SIC when I can be bothered (not a patch on the original series, which they show on Panda, but I got most eps on the comp anyway so meh). Also, on Fridays, german channel RTL has a pretty good sitcom about life in early 80's communist Germany. Only thing is I don't get RTL2, which shows that great new Teen Titans cartoon, I wonder if there's a box set...

Daniel_Rf (Daniel_Rf), Thursday, 14 October 2004 22:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Only things I watched today: a Buffy rerun, a new Powerpuff Girls episode and this week's WWE Raw (the first ever in England, hurrah). Oh, and All Or Nothing, if that's the right title for a recent Mike Leigh film, but that was videoed from yesterday.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 14 October 2004 22:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh, of course, "Powerpuff Girls"! I try to catch episodes of that, and "Samurai Jack", and sometimes "Kids Next Door" too, but I'm usually out when they're on.

Daniel_Rf (Daniel_Rf), Thursday, 14 October 2004 22:49 (twenty-one years ago)

of new american series: Lost and Desperate Housewives, though the latter's first episode was considerably more interesting than the second episode. Waiting for 24 and the OC. And Arrested Development, but I need to see all of the first series on DVD when it comes out because I kept missing it. Oh and the Wire.

kyle (akmonday), Thursday, 14 October 2004 22:51 (twenty-one years ago)

What I watch on TV:

"Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" (Obv -- but here on ILX, it is to TV what Franz Ferdinand is to music, i.e. a pop culture thing that almost no one here even seems to want to like.)
"Extreme Makeover" (appointment TV with Mom)
Food Network: "Unwrapped" and "Good Eats".
VH1C: "The Alternative" (yes, still)
HGTV: Sometimes I will watch "House Hunters" and "Divine Design". And "Curb Appeal".
Sometimes I will watch other things, but that's not as consistent.
Oh, and guilty pleasure? "Crossing Jordan". It's absurd, but I love it.

Many Coloured Halo (Dee the Lurker), Friday, 15 October 2004 03:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Reruns of "Designing Women".

Leeeter van den Hoogenband (Leee), Friday, 15 October 2004 03:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Nova!

Remy (x Jeremy), Friday, 15 October 2004 03:01 (twenty-one years ago)

I confess I just watched the last 10 minutes of "Joey" for the first time. It was worse than I feared. I thought it was based on that character from "Friends," but apparently I was mistaken. Gee whiz, can't the make up department do something about the HUGE bags under his eyes? Or just change the name of the show to "40 Something." as befits his gravitas and actual age.

EComplex (EComplex), Friday, 15 October 2004 03:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Tonight I shall be mostly watching The Green Wing if I can drag myself away from me tiger Woods game long enough.

Rumpy Pumpkin (rumpypumpkin), Friday, 15 October 2004 06:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Ever since I moved, I have no cable. Therefore, I only get three channels with my crappy rabbit ears: ABC, Fox, and KCAL-9. Fine with me, since all I watch now is "24", "Alias", and NFL!

Gear! (Gear!), Friday, 15 October 2004 06:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Or just change the name of the show to "40 Something." as befits his gravitas and actual age. And weight. In stones.

EComplex (EComplex), Saturday, 16 October 2004 02:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Corner Gas. I wish I had Brent Butt's sex appeal. With a last name like Butt how could he be anything but sexy?

Bryan (Bryan), Saturday, 16 October 2004 04:00 (twenty-one years ago)

You obviously aren't an English football fan. We have a Nicky Butt, and he is anything but sexy.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 16 October 2004 06:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Hmm...I'm just wondering if his super tight footballer buns make up for his vulture face.

Bryan (Bryan), Saturday, 16 October 2004 07:02 (twenty-one years ago)

my favorite thing on tv recently was vh1's reality secrets revealed 2.

Cynthia Nixon Now More Than Ever (Jody Beth Rosen), Saturday, 16 October 2004 07:33 (twenty-one years ago)

the daily show is still doing its job but they NEED to get rid of everyone who isn't jon stewart or lewis black.

Cynthia Nixon Now More Than Ever (Jody Beth Rosen), Saturday, 16 October 2004 07:37 (twenty-one years ago)

true - everyone else is kinda pedestrian, which is why the middle half of the show is usually the worst bit, unless they've happened to find something particuarly mentalist to cover; even the interview section works better, at least when they stick to political guests.

That episode where Ed Helms was subbing for Jon and they had Nader on was weird - he wrapped it up with "well, I hope either you or Kerry win" or something to that effect, which was a lot more explicit than Stewart usually gets.

Daniel_Rf (Daniel_Rf), Saturday, 16 October 2004 09:56 (twenty-one years ago)

nine years pass...

I've started watching Shark Tank. Rich people are assholes, unless you're a stay-at-home mom who invented something involving your kids.

Kiarostami bag (milo z), Thursday, 13 March 2014 01:13 (eleven years ago)

one year passes...

no (Lamp), Wednesday, 10 June 2015 15:43 (ten years ago)

UNReal - Lifetime TV show
