Mechanical bull!

It just dawned on me that I have never enjoyed the thrill of riding a mechanical bull. Have you ever been on top of one? Did you enjoy it? Or are you fanatical about them -- to the point of being a connoisseur? Do they exist in the UK?

I once rode a penny horse at Meijer's Thrifty Acres, back when I was quite young. That's about the closest I got.

I rode one at a college ball for about 10 seconds before it flung me to the ground. It was quite amusing in a sort of woo-hoo way, but the pain of falling off didn't really justify the woo-hoo-ness.

I reckon I probably haven't gone on one due to being dangerously bucked off the one horse I rode in my youth. I made the horrible mistake of mounting a horse named Clown.

No, but there was one in a club in Newcastle when I was there on a stag do. Our groom stepped up, to our cheers, but had to wait behind a really focused guy who had no supporters and appeared to be there entirely on his own - possibly he was in the club solely for the mechanical bull. However, he was also completely wrecked and even tried to take his drink on with him. Anyway, he was thrown off by the very first movement the bull made as it started to warm up. We started booing him, and he looked so devastated at his failure and its poor reception that I felt really bad (and still feel a bit guilty now, thanks for bringing it up)
