2 parts frangelico, 1 part chambord, 1 part butter schnapps. pour over ice, shake, serve.

it is like lunch when you were 7 but instead of feeling isolated by the girls at the cool table, you feel nice and warm.

mixing cafeteria nostalgia and midshelf liquor: classic or dud?

The recent party revealed my fondness for the previously unknown to me Adios Motherfucker. To be consumed sparingly.

I really like the way buttermilk + vodka tastes (with the juice of one pepperoncini to add some tang). I can imagine this being imbibed in the cafeteria at a Russian prison, though that's not exactly why I like it I don't think.

Have you ever asked yoursel f" Why am I so ... alive?"

Mike Hanle y, Thursday, 25 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Maura you are clearly INSANE and I don't even know what frangelico and chambord ARE! Also I don't have much cafeteria nostalgia as only FULES ate skool dinners (dam skool sossidge) at primary skool and pretty much the same at high school and the only things we evah ate there were CHIPS AND GRAVY anyway mmmmm chips and gravy. I cannot imagine making BOOZY chips and gravy though.

frangelico =hazelnut, chambord=raspberry

i can't stomach the stuff though -- to me, frangelico=liquid nutella, chambord=expensive cough syrup without the ghetto- hallucinogen aftereffects

i think the best drinks have OLIVES in them: ronan take note!!

geeta, Thursday, 25 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Liquid nutella! Rowr.

Sarah, Thursday, 25 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

This sounds so tasty! But I suspect having one at work would present problems.

Nicole, Thursday, 25 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

screw these girlie shots, tequila all the way.

Chris, Thursday, 25 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

kris are you for real?? what do you call that?

Tracer Hand, Thursday, 25 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

i think you should call it the "Mail-Order Bride"

Tracer Hand, Thursday, 25 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Don't do it, Tracer. Either that or do it and add the mix to your opium tea.

Ally, Thursday, 25 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

It's not a shot, but the latest drink I created was the jade sunrise (tequila sunrise with Midori substituted for grenadine). NUM NUM.

Dan Perry, Thursday, 25 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Tracer what's your recipe for opium tea?

Kris, Thursday, 25 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

1. smoke opium 2. make some tea

i think Ally's talking about my huge stash of MATE, actually. here

Tracer Hand, Thursday, 25 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

well that's not actually my mate. it's someone else's.

Tracer hand, Thursday, 25 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I like the idea of a Gein-like Tracer keeping a stash of mates in his pantry, brewing them up every now and then to increase his mental acuity.
