Ok, so, 77076 has about 40% of the people that 60640 has. Adjusting for that, 77076 still only gave 3.3% as much as 60640. Also, 77076 only has 55% of the average income of 60640, so adjusting again for that, they gave 6.6% to their top guy as the Chicagoans did to theirs. And that's only for the top guy... adding the total contributions listed for both zips, the Houstonian total gets far far smaller. I can't help but think this is cultural somehow. according to Google 94101 is the Civic Center area, not a very residential area, so I'm not surprised the donation amt is so low. I'm sure it jumps once you move to Nob Hill/Marina.
