I started a WA state thread purely for the purpose of this article.

Levi is of course a genius. If there is a way to get anything you want, it's "sexporium"

So anyway, since this would come up anyway.
In no way do I think Gregoire is an outstanding governor, but I think she's far better than Rossi would be. She's been really good on social/liberty issues, and she's a bit underrated in disaster management i.e. Centralia/Chehalis cleanup. She was already better than Locke, which really isn't saying that much to be honest. The problem is: Gregoire is just the WORST campaigner ever. She can run a million ads, but all of her ads suck badly. Rossi was such an easy target this year, and yet Gregoire allowed him to become a difficult target again. WHY?
Even some deployed analysis trucks at the viaduct would have been enough to swing Seattle heavily toward her, since that seems to be the main beef with Seattle Rossi supporters... it's not that she's a viaduct-rebuild supporter, but there hasn't been an impression of any action whatsoever toward the issue. It's a fair issue to call her out on.
It's almost a coin toss, but the coin is slightly weighted in favor of Gregoire given recent polls. Hopefully, Obamania will help tilt in her favor. It's not so much that I think Gregoire will walk on water, but I think Rossi will retard things in Washington far moreso.

They've been all over it, off and on, for the past month.

NY Times' insistence of not mentioning ease of bus use is unsurprising but still annoying. Also they chose the blandest locations in Fremont. Then again, I figure the NY Times Travel Section target market is a different breed altogether.
re: viaduct. Well, good. Still, how much analyzin' do they need to do?
No matter who becomes governor, I predict that the Viaduct will fall apart in a disaster before it gets rebuilt.
