Well, yeah, plenty, but that's another story.

We haven't actually got to that stage in the UK yet but there are plenty of neighbourhood watch produced posters up round us. It always seems a bit dumb because the kind of egg throwing hooligan this is aimed at is not going to be deterred by a poster. Better to just turn all your lights off and lay low if you're that worried.

Actually, tbh very little trouble in my quiet suburb. The kids are very polite and even said admiring things about the little display we put out the front, very basic by US standards I should think, yer basic Dracula gravestone and assorted bones and skulls scattered about. One small child got scared and had to send her mum up to get the chocolates. My daughter was very concerned that we had inflicted lasting pyschological damage.

OK, I'm rambling, nighty night.

she had a really scary ghost costume she couldn't keep on -- her mom made it and the eyes and mouth holes had weird screen stitched into them -- she was wearing pink underwear -- a good look under white tights

not nearly enough kids came to the door last night but I did get a grade 9 or 10 in an uncanny Juno costume - a good slow burner, because as she approached with her friends it look like she hadn't dressed up (since her stomach was blocked by the girl in front) but as soon as she stepped in front we realized who she was and how much she'd nailed her costume - down to the same wisps of hair tucked behind her ears. Disconcerting on a relatively young girl but fun!

Also saw:
Bender from Futurama
"Sexy" Nurse, Queen of Hearts, Pirate, and other girls in short skirts (these were the girls with Juno.. pffft. Juno was so much cooler.)
A three year old lion who wouldn't say trick or treat but continued to roar and roar at us and my friend's dog
Hannah Montanah (I only know this because there was a little HM sticker on the front... but the kid seemed to love it so I told her she looked great)
A couple toddlers came up around 9PM which I thought was crazy.. methinks Mom and Dad wanted lots of candy.. or perhaps all got home from work late and couldn't start out as early.

One group of 14-15 year old boys came by with no costumes, except one who had a "Scream" mask in his hand. Sigh. One little jerk even opened his bag to me without saying trick or treat while his CELL PHONE was cradled between his ear and shoulder! Little douche. He did say "thank you," at least. :P

Aw thanks. There does appear to be something in mah mouth, but I think it's gum -- although my friend whose face you can't see is quite biteable.

I yelled at that cop a few minutes before the photo because I was giving flowers to the lady police and he tried to grab them away. I am not smart sometimes.

the log lady was my costume in 9th grade. it's super-easy. all you need is a cardigan, sensible shoes, and a log.

ha thanks! i had dyed my hair black back earlier in the year so it's basically lightening that out to a pretty brassy shade with a de-emphasis on the underneath + a tremendous amount of highlights on top.
