― Tuomas, Wednesday, 5 November 2008 18:03 (seventeen years ago)
I am actually feeling nothing... Maybe denial. However, I have other pressing issues on my mind. My daughter called around 9:00 last night walking back from study hall, is an athlete on a college campus, and was just talking to me about the election. She kept saying, "Mom, McCain cannot lose!" A black young man was walking by her at the same time and was obviously listening to her conversation and said to her, "sucks to be you!". Now let it be said, I don't care what color Obama's skin is, my vote had nothing to do with the color of his skin. Then she called again at 10:00 and we couldn't believe our ears, she lives on the 3rd floor in apartments on the campus and the ruckus going on was unbelievable. She said that she was minding her own business watching the election when she heard a lot of hooping and hollering going on. Of course she and her roommates had to see what was going on and she said, "Mom you won't believe what is going on." People are going crazy on campus. Screaming out "WE WON, WE WON", etc. She attends a university in the South that has a very large black population. Now, I am not racist and America has spoken, but I am very afraid for my daughter. We told her to go back inside and mind her p's and q's. She is not afraid to speak her mind and normally I have always encouraged it, but not anymore. She said the tension on campus was very strong. She said the black and white football players were going at it pretty heavy. I thought Obama was supposed to unite this Nation, but doesn't look that way on one college campus!
So black and white people celebrating together is a sign of Obama not uniting the nation?!

A funny. Emphasis in the original:
We need new leadership for the Republican National Committee. We need someone that can present our conservative ideas to the public in a way that they can understand. Small government. Fiscal and personal responsibility. Strong, but wise defense policies. This is what is important to the core of our nation. There is such a man that can do this. He ran in our Presidential primaries, but was unsuccessful mostly due to his inability to put together a functional campaign strategy. Most everyone agreed he had the best and right ideas to lead our nation forward, but simply wasn't the person for that job. This man is Fred Dalton Thompson.
