It was a fun show. Witty, dry humor and never got stale. My mum loved it, and when she was sick and dying, and could not concentrate on anything, Murphy Brown did the trick. I was fortunate to have a contact at CBS who sent me VHSs of all seasons and it ran non stop. It gives me solace to know that she went out with a laugh. The painter guy was great too. A shame he had real life personal probs and offed himself. A loss, he could have been a good all around actor.

"dude-ess" to you Sir Stanton, and yes, it's for real. What do you mean I always have intense posts? Do I really? I'm actually a pretty amusing chick. Just overly educated so I probably come off as a creepy and serious AH. Sorry, don't mean to. I am a woman who is in LA works in the entertainment industry and since I was born here am oddly unaffected by fame, fortune and such. Why do you ask?

oh dear lord

Oh! dur... my bad. You were prob'ly commenting on that I do have lots of pretty personal contact and insights into the "people who consider themselves important in the entertainment industry". I do, but am here to tell you that they're really no different that we are, they put their clothes on the same way we do, and if anything...they're probably more effed up than the average ILXor. It's all relative. It's getting more obvious these days b/c of the ever present paparazzi, who photograph their every move, gaffs and faux-pas. It's too bad IMO, I would have liked to have been born a decade or two before I was, and to experience the "old Hollywood" where actors/actresses didn't appear in public w/o being dressed to the nth degree and "on" at all times. Now we're subjected to actually seeing and watching children getting messed up with drugs and alcohol and ushered off to rehab. 20 years ago, all that was hidden from the public and happened behind closed doors so the mystique and magic of the "star" remained intact. We live in a different world now, sadly.

Sorry Burt, were you kidding with the MB request? I am in a more serious mode tonight, as I spent 1/2 hour trying to commute less than a mile due to gay protesters in the streets in front of a mormon temple in westwood who were protesting against the main contingent of supporters of prop 8 in CA. There is another post here that asks how a country that has elected a black man as president can deny gay marriage. My comment is that I don't understand it either. It's counter intuitive and bass-ackward. It's the 1st time I have not minded sitting in a traffic jamb caused by protesters; although I am not gay, I would be happy to join those who are protesting the outcome of this prop. One of the best signs I saw was held by a lady and it said: "You can have two or three dozen wives, why can't I have just one?" It made me giggle for moment, then I wnated to cry.
