Gotta love the Cube Houses!

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3203/2854392849_3be2dd62ae.jpg

According to an explanatory placard outside the Cube project, "Living in a cube requires quite a bit of imagination and adaptability by the residents. They must thrive on creativity since standard furniture simply will not fit."

I lived in Rotterdam when I was much younger and used to LOVE going under the cube houses - the fact that they span a street is just as interesting as their shape!

and, Speedy J lives in one! Or at least he did.

There's a house in Australia that has a prjection of the house that was on the site before that house, if you get my drift, it's quite beautiful and bizarre but I can't remember who built it or where I saw it.

At the very least the thread was not damaged by the inclusion of a non-building, and I would even say that it was made more delightful.

The 'optical illusion' building is in Melbourne.

Here's a house in Albuquerque.

I photographed this church, in the north of England, the mid 80s, it's since been knocked down (except the tower).

Ugh, LAB. The principal lectured here last year - smart guy but every project looks like a less-resolved version of that one, and there was a kind of yechhy element to his enthusiasm for work in Dubai. "It's great, there's no rules there! Back home, everything has to go through committees..." Oh, that darn democratic government!

Doctor Casino, Tuesday, 2 December 2008 23:51 (seventeen years ago)

All these Melbourne buildings look far better in pictures than when you have to go past them on a train twice a day.
