Accidentally burning the office down, C or D?

I've just got back home and remembered I've left an electric heater plugged in all night, sitting on the carpet, with no one there to unplug it.

I should really travel back into work for an hour to turn it off, shouldn't I?

I don't know, has your job thus far been like Office Space AND could you work in construction if it does burn down?

Da Mayor: Doctor...
Mookie: C'mon, what. What?
Da Mayor: Always do the right thing.

Mookie: That's it?

If you're like me, you'll go all the way back and find that it's unplugged already, either because you really unplugged it but forgot that you did, or because someone else (colleague, cleaner, burglar) came in and unplugged it.

Is the heater not thermostatically contolled in any way?

Of course, Matt DC could go back to the office, to find that it's in flames, and get there just as the cops arrive...

Cop: "Do you know how this started?"
Matt DC: "Well, I work here..."
Cop: "Uh-huh..."
Matt DC: "...and I just came back to see that the building wasn't on fire, er..."
Cop: "You're under arrest Miranda etc."

I went back in, as the thing was pretty ancient and actually up quite high.

Now I am in the pub ordering dinner. I suppose it was worth it for peace of mind if nothing else.

Chopper Aristotle (Matt DC), Tuesday, 25 November 2008 20:43 (seventeen years ago)

I am proud of you.

Abbott of the Trapezoid Monks (Abbott), Tuesday, 25 November 2008 20:43 (seventeen years ago)

Seriously. I am, too. Well done.

What did you have for dinner at the pub? What did you have to drink therewith?

I almost set my warehouse on fire a couple of months ago. I put out a cigarette in a trash can filled with sawdust. For some reason it didn't occur to me that if you put a cig in cherry first (sand-stylee) it might, like, ignite the sawdust.

Ooops.
