Michelle Malkin is the hottest. They're missing someone incredibly obvious here.

Yeh, Ann coulter wins (who is she? Being a brit, am I supposed to know?

I'm a Brit who's heard of Coulter. She gets the occasional bit of press over here just for being a rabid fucking loon. I suspect Pullman may have drawn inspiration from her while naming his villain.

chap, Wednesday, 26 November 2008 15:54 (seventeen years ago)

I think he has mentioned that he did indeed get his inspiration for Mrs. Coulter from Anne. Whose jaws are now wired shut due to a broken jaw (plastic surgery maybe?).

I love that only Anne Coulter (and Clare Boothe Luce) are wearing their own furs.

tokyo rosemary, Wednesday, 26 November 2008 16:12 (seventeen years ago)

It's kind of hard to see whether Coulter's is becoming or not but it's an okay photo. Malkin's photo is probably the least off-putting and her fur is not too tawdry as are Star Parker's and Kate Obenshain's. Kellyanne Conway, Mary Katharine Ham, Amanda Carpenter and Dr. Miriam Grossman's furs are simply ludicrous - I would honestly be impolite enough to sneer at them if I met them so attired. I'm basically okay with killing animals to eat them or wear their pelts, but to make and wear such furs is to unjustly besmirch the innocent lives of the animals that provided them. The make-up artist needs to go to some kind of re-education camp, the work is so abjectly bad.

Luce to Dorothy Parker (stepping aside at 21 in NYC as they both approached the door simultaneously): "Age before beauty."

Parker: "...and pearls before swine."

afin d’y être sublime sans interruption (Michael White), Wednesday, 26 November 2008 16:56 (seventeen years ago)

Luce returned to politics during the 1952 presidential election, when she campaigned on behalf of Republican candidate Dwight Eisenhower. Luce's support was rewarded with an appointment as ambassador to Italy, confirmed by the Senate in March 1953. Meeting Pope Pius XII, she allegedly instructed him to be tougher on communism in defense of the Church, prompting the Pontiff to a quiet reply, "You know, Mrs. Ambassador, I am a Catholic too."
