I ask stuff for two reasons - either I want to know the answers or I want to tart an interesting debate. Take the porn vs erotica thread - we've had several threads touching on porn and there is an interesting discussion to be had about it, but straightforward approaches hadn't really got to the point where that discussion was happening, so I tried again with a rephrased question. And it seemed to work.

Tom, I believe that's something Mike has said about me...

Anyhow, Sterling, you aren't trying to flirt with me, I know that, because I believe you despise me. I'm only here because I'm bored and feel like annoying people with stories about people none of you know and talking trash about Otis and Mike. That's basically it. So speaking of that, I had to clean up like 8 gallons of puke this weekend, IN MY OWN BED, it was so horrible, particularly since it wasn't mine. I mean, wtf? How can you stay asleep when you puke anyhow? I'm all, "Are you okay? Get up, get up" and he's like sleeping in his own puke. That is easily the most disgusting thing anyone I've ever shared a bed with as ever done. EVER. Then the next day everyone went to Justin's house and they all slept together like hippies but I don't believe anyone puked. Steph has banished Otis from our house again, but it's like the 100th time he's been banished.

Since people don't 1) support the bands I like, 2) support the movies I like, 3) support the TV shows I like, support the authors I like, 5) vote in the politicians I vote for, 6) seem to like me much, 7) seem to like my online posts much, or 8) notice me much, I would have to say I have no real reason to post. I'd have to say I'm doing it purely for myself, which is kinda pointless. I like to see what others post, but I'm not sure why....I guess I find it amusing.

ILE is like a soap opera. I started coming here and contributing just for something to do. now i have things to do but i can't leave cos i'm hooked.

The differences between ILE and a soap is that ILE is more interesting and you can actually be involved. ILE is way better than sunset beach anyday, and it takes a lot for me to say that.

Capitalization of mark's name is observed only on high holy days (yesterday obv. being one). It's the articulation of the period w/the apostrophe that is willfully perverse.

Forget about the favorite number. I didn't want to know anyway. Just go answer Anthony's Omnibus...

I'm certain you have some wonky reason 4 4, but in high school my 3 best girl friends were obsessed with 4s - they made their own '4' pendants; drew it all over their notebooks; instead of giving each other '5' they gave each other '4' with the thumb tucked in, their reasoning based on pure faith in the magical properties of invented slang)

Oh, just looking back here...I did put in the category of #4, authors, but left off the number. Sorry. I understand the number 4 is associated with death in Japan, and it's the cool purple ball in the game of pool, too....

As far as the gist of what I was saying, I guess I feel outta step with everyone...but not everything I like is unpopular, I was just in an unpopular mood. The part about politicans is true enough, though; everyone I voted for a loser! Can't remember if McCain won Virginia in last year's primary....I doubt it though, and he was beat soundly in the Carolinas anyway. I guess Al Gore won the popular vote, but um that doesn't matter in the USA....basically I voted for EVERYONE POSSIBLE except George W...who I'll refrain from trashing since nothing's gone really wrong yet.

...none of this has to do with posting, but I think it truly shows why I post anyway; because I have time to kill some afternoons by posting verbose opinions.
