Grrr.... so, it took me two days to finally rid my Win 2000 box of the dreaded W32.Elkern-C worm that socked it a few days ago... (here's what McAfee has to say about it). Apparently, this thing does really shitty things on the 6th of each month. I guess we'll know very soon.

So anyway, this only speeds up the long delayed upgrade to XP. But, shit, while I'm certainly counting my lucky stars my weekend didn't go the way that it did for Jess (which I'm hoping will all turn out to be a huge blessing in disguise cum mid to late June for both Jess and Nancy), I'm just looking for some token empathy here....

How's this for positive? Watched this PBS series this weekend where a modern CA family nearly killed each other with ineptness, while trying to survive in 1880's Montana: 6 of them, ate through their entire food budget in a week, lost without electricity, the hairdryer or PlayStation 2...

Now that's painful...;>

While watching, I could only *wince*, and call them sad examples of the state.....
