i still think the best actor to portray him is the guy who played Carcetti

his hair is a given -- we're examining the finer points
― La Lechera, Wednesday, 10 December 2008 20:37 (sixteen years ago)
redmond, we mentioned his hair a lot in the last Chicago thread. There's only so much you can say about it. Also, it's like a bad smell in that after awhile, you just kind of get used to it. Also, everybody in Illinois has hair like that.
― atty at LOL (Jenny), Wednesday, 10 December 2008 20:38 (sixteen years ago)
More finer points: His eyes are really close together.

This thread title is top notch. I heard something about his taint yesterday on NPR and lost it.
As for actors, I swear there was some common 80's character actor - like the perpetual henchman of the villain-of-the-week on the A-Team, Fall Guy, Airwolf, or what have you - who looked exactly like this.

"Baby Mama"
― jaymc, Thursday, 11 December 2008 14:05 (sixteen years ago)
thank youi don't mean to start a fite about this movie, i just have had it with "you are a retard/she-male until you have a baby and then you are fine" movies. i am never seeing another one again ever.
― La Lechera, Thursday, 11 December 2008 14:12 (sixteen years ago)
the main problem i had with baby mama is that we returned our copy to the wrong blockbuster and then they said we had lost it and charged us for it and that it was our responsibility to track down that copy of baby mama at the one blockbuster and make sure they returned it to the other blockbuster
― n/a is just more of a character....in a genre polluted by clones (n/a), Thursday, 11 December 2008 14:23 (sixteen years ago)

I just started a thread, but it's not about you, Amanda, even though you were the inspiration. I just wanted to tell you so you didn't think I was being passive-agressive:"I want those two hours of my life back!"

I'm not going to see Baby Mama because I suspect I will have issues with it and I really like Tina Fey and Amy whatserface and I want to keep it that way. Also I kind of lump it in mentally with those Dumb Dude Apatow comedies and I've really had enough of them.
Somewhat related: I've had this major urge to watch Arrested Development again.

IT IS snowing IN NEW ORLEANS!
― Jesse, Thursday, 11 December 2008 15:19 (sixteen years ago)
I think I may be in the initial stages of a cold, unfortunately.
Also, and perhaps related, for some reason it has taken me like two hours to get to sleep twice this week, which is v. unusual for me. It's not like I'm lying awake obsessing about something -- I can feel my body drift toward sleepyland, but it just never takes that final plunge. Super-annoying.

I think I'm getting a cold, too. Sucks! John - take some Tylenol or Advil PM. That shit is sleepytime magic.
I was okay walking to the bus stop this morning except I got that froze nose feeling in my nose, which always makes me nervous, and my thighs were burning with the cold burn by the time I got to the bus stop. I haven't been back outside since then, though. Ha!

That's a good idea. I almost bought some Tylenol PM a couple weeks ago, but decided to buy regular Tylenol instead. Guess it can't hurt to have both on hand.

i should take a snow/egg day tomorrow.
I don't know! It's not like it was easy. Well, maybe it wasn't easy from my POV because I worked hard and got good grades. I do know some real stupids (like the classmate who had never heard of Guantanamo Bay, for example) who managed to graduate/pass the bar and are presumably working. I guess if you have the money to skate through without being too worried about getting a job and therefore paying off your loans, you can be a total dumbass and then be a lawyer who is probably making a lot more money than me not that I'm bitter although dude, I totally am.

AVOID vanilla flavored tylenol pm though, it tastes like cheap scented candles
We're a bunch of Tylenol PM junkies.
I knew some coke heads in college (lol some) who would take TPM to sleep after a particularly enthusiastic coke binge. And then I knew a pregnant lady whose doctor said she should take it because she couldn't sleep in the late stages of her pregnancy. So I figured this is something that is: 1) cheap; 2) OTC; 3) strong enough to put down a couple of tweakers; and yet 4) safe enough for a pregnant lady, it's like the most amazing drug ever.

Jesse was confused, so in case anybody else was also confused, the dumdum attorney, NOT ME, misspelled "per se" as "per say." I should have (sic)ced it (I did in the Official Legal Document that I was writing).

Boy Butter - full of boy buttery goodness! A real alternative to Crisco - Boy Butter has many of the same attributes. It has a similar consistency, melts on contact with skin and provides a non-drying lubrication that lasts for hours. And even better - it tastes good too! Very popular for use with toys / fisting / heavy arse play - but not suitable for latex condoms due to the oil content.
