(don't ask why i read this stuff). in the comments, Beth from Maidstone seems to equate writing for the Daily Mail with spying on people and subsequently having them executed. she might be right of course. i love it when the right equate liberal lefties with the stasi or with stalin.

especially like Beth if they feel there is a 'threat' of being called racist if they agree with a deeply racist man, or homophobic if they don't approve of public kissing by men.

in the same way i daily feel the sustained threat of being called balding merely because i have less hair than i once did.

Shouldn't have read that, depressing as fuck (the comments that is, the article is perfectly reasonable).

I wonder how much the sites like HYS, Youtube and the Mail would 'improve' by if they all stripped away the ability to anonymously comment under names like "pRIME MENTALIST gORDON BROWNS Koncentration Kamp Slave, Za-NU Liar Bore Village, Broekn Britain (only Boris and the BNP can fix it!!!)"

I can't recall exactly how I ended up on the article I mentioned, but I did start on that enemies of reason blog post

on the News Quiz, Robin Ince read out that awful Platell bit mentioned in the post. Amazing that with all these things they'd turn around and say 'you can't call this racism/homophobia/etc it's COMMON SENSE'

i'm keen on the whole culture war thing Moore describes altho her article was still pretty crap frankly ('perhaps now the BBC will now invite Le Pen on?' stfu menk)

the HYS page for NG/QT fallout is predictably dominated with 1000+-recommendation posts from people who are either actual bnp members or should be based on their comments.

The HYS is full of BNP members pretending to not be BNP voters but will now vote BNP because of the treatment griffin got on QT. They're not fooling anyone.

Maybe the solution is that you should only be able to vote up or vote down other people's anonymous comments if you're willing to use your real name yourself. And the sites should be able to show you who voted up or down, then you know not to trust a comment that's been upvoted by a long list of people under names like "BNP Supporter, Burnley".
