what have you planned?

anthony, Monday, 6 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Depends what the hell that is...;>

Nichole Graham, Monday, 6 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

pokemon musical fell thru :(

how long are you round anthony? (btw the deafening silence on this thread is cuz UK has a holiday today and it's been a nice day so everyone except me is out sunning themselves i guess) (i've been spring cleaning and arguing with yves montand)

mark s, Monday, 6 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i am there for nine days

anthony, Monday, 6 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

well friday's out for me and i'm off to wales on tuesday morning till the 19th *BUT* the other three days are fine and free (well, the evening only on monday)

mark s, Monday, 6 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Quick, hide the silverware ;-)

Ed, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

How do people fancy Sunday?

Tom, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I tend to fancy guys more, Tom.

nathalie, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh christ not a big drinkfest on a Sunday, I have discovered to my horror that my head hurts so much today I can barely write properly good job I only have to sign things eh!!

Sarah, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Bouze wool everywhere + WORK = yuck, is what I meant.

Sarah, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

What I was thinking re. Sunday - Anthony is not a big drinker so we could meet up, go see some gallery or culcha thing and then retire to the pub for a sedate few pints before getting a nice meal. i.e. not a huge bouzefest (though others may be planned).

Tom, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Aaaah, bee-yoo-tiful. Then again any mention of a large meal to me in my pre-lunch state will be approved. GUTS ARE SHRIEKING FOR LARDY LUNCH.

Sarah, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Sunday v. good. Anthony will probably fancy going to NERD if it's on that night, which I think it is (club in Shoreditch with artists as DJs). I will find out who is DJing tomorrow when I see everyone relevant at the Chapman Bros opening. People who don't like dancing to Fischerspooner and Stereo Total can sit upstairs and drink booze.

Cheaper bars with art: the ICA, Royal Festival Hall. Whoever has ICA cards can get one other in with them, unless they're me and can blag a few more than is strictly part of the allocation.

suzy, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

The ICA is expensive enough! There's no way I will be able to afford to go anywhere more expensive than there! I have an ICA card too and I could wave some people in and then sit in the corner with my tap water chiz chiz.

Sarah, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

"eau de tappe? that'll be £5 or £500,000 as we are currently using the turner-prize winning installation 'sink = punk' for our amenity needZoR"

i shall try and inveigle a portion of my rub mob into this posse, as it is time you all met nacho

mark s, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Wow nerds sounds hellacool. Beyond hellacool. And dinner does to. But the thing is that i proably have tickets to Zimmy that night. They were rather expensive and i really really want to go-look i am being an asshole after you made all these plans :(

ase

anthony, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Anthony do not worry. "Made all these plans" = "Tom picking a date and a few other people replying". A weeknight evening might be fine for a Fancy-An-Anthony-Pint anyway - when are you free?

Tom, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

the thing is that sunday is the only day in which i have plans.

anthony, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I have vague plans Saturday - I'm around otherwise though.

Tom, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Well i only wait to be guided to decadence and sin.

anthony, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

nice weather then hyde park picnic perhaps?

Alan Trewartha, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh, OKAY. Regardless I always go to NERD. And ICA has Beck's futures up now so 2 birds one stone, eh? Sarah you did mention Sunday drinking would toxify you, expensive bar prices stop you having loads, right?

art to check: BUNNY LAKE DRIVE-IN by Georgina Starr, 86 Brick Lane E1.

Hyde Park, ecch. I thought the point of the exercise was to take Le Moose Rose to non-tourist places?

suzy, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

That would surely be inappropriate for Anthony is a tourist.

N., Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

b-b-b-but Suzy PICNICS!! bah well we can always go to Greenwich park, that's nice but not amazingly central. and have ansinthe with the picnic for that extra decadent buzz! or be really EDGY and drink tennant's extra with the "locals" on gagglegoose green, hahaha...

katie, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

"ansinthe" = "absinthe", obv. plus i want to meet MarkS's rub mob!

katie, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Gunnersbury park! I will probably come along to a pubmeet on a weekday.

jel --, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Kennington Park is the only viable option.

Sarah, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Top of Primrose Hill = lovely but a HORRIFIC climb.

Sarah, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Don't see the big deal about Primrose Hill. Hampstead Heath or Victoria Park.

N., Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

KEW GARDENS!

RickyT, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

So, a two-stage event is taking shape.

Sunday lunchtime/afternoon - lovely picnic. Anthony goes off to Bob, the rest of us do whatever.

a weekday night - an ILE Fancy-A-Pint with Anthony as the guest-of- honour. The FAP Steering Committee will report soon.

Tom, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

(Um Tom pls remember what next Friday is please)

Emma, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Hyde Park full of Americans in matching sweatshirts and the dreaded fanny packs and do not want reminding of vast majority of Mpls suburbanites. I say picnic in London's Trendy Hoxton Square, Prim Hill, Hampstead Heath (as is free parking for those who have cars). I would suggest London Fields because of the pub on the park i/c of rain and proximity to Mark S' mob but it is major transport hassle.

Anthony wants to go to trendy places so...

suzy, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

next friday = kimera's birthday (i will be in wales w/o modem so others must do the honours)

oh yes and also it's..., Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Emma I have not forgotten what next Friday is. FAPs are traditionally held on schoolnights anyway, I was thinking Tuesday.

Tom, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

picnic in hoxton square is madness. i second kew for obv reasons.

Alan Trewartha, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm up for Kew, I've never been there!

Sarah, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

coo yes Kew! and then we can go and look at that huge stinky flower as well!

katie, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

it looks like a giant glass cock! HAHAHAHA. sorry, I was thinking of something else. STILL, it looks like a giant cock. hence the name. question is, will this be of interest to pink mooses :-)

Alan Trewartha, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Stinky Penisflower will be dead/dormant by then.

Kew??? Yes tis gorgeous but it is in ZONE 4. Where is the Dylan gig anyway, that should be the decider on picnic location, eg. somewhere A can get to easily.

suzy, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

It might be Zone 4, but it's still pretty easy to get to. However, Suzy has a point. The Dylan gig is at the bloody London Arena so Kew probably is a bit too far out.

RickyT, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

battersea park = fab for picnics and equally hard to get to from everywhere!! kew is far yes (esp for me) but well served by tube surely... where is london arena? (possibly i shd know this but i don't)

mark s, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

rub mob = west/south london-based mostly, so don't make it east on their account (haha they never do for ME viz battersea knowledge)

mark s, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I dunno where London Arena is either, heh heh. Kew and Battersea BOTH grate suggestions, and anyway on the way to Kew we could be like the Intercity Firms and terrorize the non-interweb mentalists on the district line/britrail YAY!

Sarah, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

London Arena in cockfarming Docklands!

Sarah, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Docklands is wicked! It's like Blade Runner.

N., Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

It is like Blade Runner = It is dull.

Pete, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Highbury Fields? V easy to get to, v. easy to get to Bob onna North London line.

suzy, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

But not v.exciting.

N., Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

They are parks = they are not exciting.

It'll be raining on Sunday anyway.

Pete, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

if it's docklands then greenwich shouldn't be dismissed.

Alan Trewartha, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Victoria Park.

Kennington Park.

Wandsworth Common.

Pete, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Kew is cool! Pagoda central!

jel --, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

battersea = pagoda central, mr buglebear

mark s, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Can we get this confirmed so I can book reasonablt priced train tickets please?

Graham, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

hmmph!

(I wanna meat Pink Moose)

Graham, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Freudian slip ahoy!!!

Pete, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

ho ho

Alan Trewartha, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Well frankly who doesn't?

Graham, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Keeping it afloat, yo.

Greenwich on Sundays = CROWDS of cheeeeeeldren. No no no.

I'm for Vicky Park.

suzy, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

The Forecast is not great for sunday. So maybe we should shelve the picnic idea. No one has poo pooed London fields and the pub there is very nice, can be reached by 55 242, some other buses and BR train, 277 goes from not far from there to whisk anthony to Bob. Hoxton square, is a crazy idea, although Shoreditch is very good for carousing, pup to pub to bar to gallery to bagel to curry to cheap vietnamese nibbles.

ICA is not an expensive bar, it does have a bit of a closed off feel and there is no outside. I'd suggest the Duke again but clerkenwell is dead on a sunday. Soho pubs will suck of a sunday, as will Camden ones.

Ed, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Sorry that wasn't very constructive. Bricklayer's arms, Rivington St?

Ed, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i don't know any of these places but i LOVE reading about them

bc, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

is this daytime or evening btw?

if daytime, won't make it, but i'd suggest clissold park as a possibility

if evening, how about the embassy bar, essex rd, or the good mixer camden (oi, ricky t, shush!). or, crazy idea, brixton?

gareth, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

or t-bird on blackstock rd. ha!

gareth, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

The ICA is an expensive bar Ed. Apologies for not being as obv loaded as you are.

Sarah, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

what Starry said.

poor pleb boo hoo, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Sarah, Anthony is an art whore. He would like to see the ICA I'm sure; think what would be fun and interesting for him, since he's the guest, OKAY? Stop being boring about the drinks prices, they're not as outrageous as you make out.

Anthony to thread ASA fucking P.

suzy, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Sorry, I'll try and be boring about Shoreditch or Hoxton next time eh?

Sarah, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

And there was no need to smack me down over that Suzy, that was well rude and inconsiderate.

Sarah, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

oh Suzy we are SO sorry we misunderstood. people who aren't arty and rich like yourselves aren't invited, well why didn't you just SAY? we'll just go and sit in our little cannon fodder corner with a nice cheap bottle of lighter fluid eh, and leave you arty types to it.

katie, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Mmm lighter flooid...

GOT ANY MORE????

you should nevah mix your drinkz!, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

ps. apologies to anthony. i was really looking forward to meeting you, but i think i may have to do it when you take time out from arty pursuits for something a little more lowbrow. this is not intended as a dig at you AT ALL.

katie, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

What Katie said.

Sarah, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

You actually think I'm rich? Haaaaaaaa. That's rich.

Sorry Sarah, it's just every time I make a suggestion of any kind, you whinge. It's IRRITATING and seems more about the suggestor than the actual suggestion. Never mind the reverse snobbery shown to Ed, never mind that I'm trying to suggest things that everyone can reach pretty easily - not all have been art-type suggestions - and never mind that what strikes me as rude is the way you're doing the thcweam and thcweam bit instead of keeping an eye out for things the guest would enjoy. We live here all the time, Anthony has nine days. Prioritise him and stop acting like a toddler.

suzy, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Sorry, reverse snobbery = not being able to afford stuff? Eh?

Emma, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Suzy, Sarah was complaining about the drinks prices, you started the snarkiness.

Graham, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I read Sarah's comment as a sarky dig at Ed.

suzy, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

... and i carried on some snarkiness, for which apologies but i was *angry*. may i respectfully suggest that it was not the suggestor of the plans that Sarah was getting all het up about, it was the *tone* in which the suggestions were made? and may i further respectfully suggest that we do what Tom (i think) said and let those who want to do some art-whoring go off and do it for a bit, then get down the good ol'pub (which you have to agree is as much an ESSENTIAL London experience as art galleries etc) for a chinwag, because believe it or not there are those of us who are NOT art whores and can't afford the ICA drinkies prices and yet still want to meet anthony?

katie, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I just checked upwards, of your many suggestions, and the only thing I made comments about was the ICA which I had PRETTY VALID reasons for. Sure my comment may have been a bit snarky but it's still the truth and I'm sorry you felt the urge to turn it into a big deal.

Sarah, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Tom said: "So, a two-stage event is taking shape.

Sunday lunchtime/afternoon - lovely picnic. Anthony goes off to Bob, the rest of us do whatever.

a weekday night - an ILE Fancy-A-Pint with Anthony as the guest-of- honour. The FAP Steering Committee will report soon."

I think this is the best idea! As I can probably only make a weekday. Glasshouse Stores? As like it's quite easy to get to.

jel --, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

OK, Katie, know a good Sunday pub near to some art, food and the appropriate public transport to get A to his gig in time? I suggest near Hoxton due to current stuff at White Cube (free), Georgina Starr in Brick Lane and...well...curry.

Actually I think I've got it: The Owl and Pussycat on Redchurch Street, E2. It's not at Fashion Victim ground zero, is a REAL PUB and is reachable from Liverpool Street and Old Street and Shoreditch, no problem. And Brick Lane close too for the inevitable food thing.

suzy, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i think that this sounds good. any other takers?

katie, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

hoxton is totally grate for me obv => and if it IS supernice weatherwise we cd decamp to the square surely? (or maybe O&P has good outside tables and stuff)

mark s, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i'm lost now, what is the suggestion for sunday, and what is the suggestion for weekday

gareth, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh cool, that's near where I got lost last time, I should be alright.

Graham, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Is there going to be a weekday meet up? Should there be a new thread for this?

jel --, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah go ahead Jel and start a new thread for weekday stuff else we will all get confused - I'm confused enough already as it is, but then again I have been preparing a document about condensed milk prices so whot can you expect eh.

Sarah, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I have just done the same search on smoking cessation and pregnancy twice. But I'll start a new thread.

jel --, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

(i cannot do the weekday as i will be in wales) (unless we move it TO wales heh) (the drinks are cheaper than the ICA and the views bettah, but the buses not so good)

mark s, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

erm new answer new answers, since i can't magic the rub mob up at five second's notice, and shd prolly contact them by thur morning latest (also possibly i believe they will prefer picniXoR to pubs, unless it is chucking it down) if they are to come at all

(greenwich wd be a nightmare for me to get to)

mark s, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)
