Apparently this month is World Foot Health Awareness Month. How aware of your own foot health are you? Where do you stand on feet (HAR HAR or maybe not)? What are your feet like? Can you do anything good with your feet (I know someone who can play Tekken!)? Well?

Emma, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

My feet are brilliant. My friend has yellow toenails.

Only this morning I was examining the health of my feet where - like many men - I have a slight big toenail turning into claw problem. (Its some sort of benign fungus I believe). On closer inspection I noted that it was getting perilously close to becoming ingrown - so I rectified this with my nail clippers and a small amount of necessary pain.

Apart from this my feet are in pretty good nick.

Pete, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I got loads of new socks last week and I always find with new socks they are very unbreathable for the first few wears. As a result my feet are far too hot and smell quite bad every evening. However I never have to remove my shoes in the company of others so it's definitely a tree falls in the forest thing to me.

Ronan, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

you run a marathon, your toenails start to fall off. ew

Alan Trewartha, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Pete's feet are clearly the Achilles heel of his unbreakability ho ho ho.

I quite like my feet, the toenails are currently a weird shade of sludgey greeny purple (due to varnish not fungus). However they let me down in yoga last week by sliding down the mirror when I was trying to do a climbing-up-the-wall position.

feet in luck. feet in God

mike hanle y, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

(For a second, I thought Emma was saying Ptee has an unbreakable ho. I was perturbed.)

I've got tiny little corns on the sides of my feet that stem directly from one day of wearing uncomfortable shoes about 6 years ago. For some reason, I can't get rid of them. Other than that, my feet are brilliant.

Dan Perry, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I can cross my toes. I have very flexible feet. They are probably my best feature. Oh-er!

jel --, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I also remembered I have two hardened blister type things on the inside of my heel at the same place on each foot from dancing I presume.

Ronan, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Jel, can you cross your toes without using your hands?

N., Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

my mum has feet the shape of pointy-toed shoes. my feet are good enough, except the soles are a funny orange colour.

nickie, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

N. yep!...and my little toe can move idependently!

jel --, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i have a heelspur. it is mildly painful most of the time, excruciatingly so whenever i stand or dance at gigs (i.e. pretty often). *and* i have flat feet. my feet are a disaster. thank god for shoes.

rener, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I suddenly have enormous non-painful blisters on mine for unknown reasons, and big cuts in the back of my ankles from my shoes. Plus my toenails. UGH.

Graham, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I fear Graham has been committing unspeakable acts in his sleep. Have you checked the local paper for reports of a bug-eyed lunatic going on the rampage?

N., Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Had some nasty planar warts for a couple of years recently -- not painful, just persistent -- that have finally given up the ghost. There's a semi-recurrent athlete's foot worry on my left foot, but otherwise they reasonably thrive.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I've got atheletes foot as well. I wonder if its possible to change the name to "do nothing remotely athletic on a regular basis foot". I mean I play the occasional wiffle ball game but haven't been actively involved in a sport since 1993.

Chris, Tuesday, 7 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Other than having no arch in my foot whatsoever, my feet have always been healthy.

Alas, I can't do anything with them....other than slap them through the water.

Nichole Graham, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

two years pass...
for the last three days, when i take off my socks at the end of the day i've noticed some dirt/buildup along the sides of one of my big toe nails, and underneath the top of the nail, too. it's only one toe. i take a shower every day. i don't get it. i am trying to determine if it is some sort of fungus, but the toenail itself doesn't seem to have anything wrong with it. i am trying to decide whether to call a doctor about this, in order to stave off a potential growth, or curb my hypochrondiacal tendencies and not worry about it.

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 21 April 2005 20:51 (twenty years ago)

duh, it was from my shoes.

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 22 April 2005 00:53 (twenty years ago)

i'm such a nutcase.

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 22 April 2005 00:55 (twenty years ago)

The edge of my big toenails are turning a little yellow :(

Remy (x Jeremy), Friday, 22 April 2005 00:57 (twenty years ago)

I had an ingrown a little over a year ago. Not fun. Had to go through laser treatment and everything.
