Humans are OK. They're the only species I'd even consider having sex with, after all. But I don't think I'd mind it super- intelligent songbirds ran the world.

Interesting phrase "Human Beings". The human thing after all is the species, and yet we are also given kudos for being. Being here can be read as existing, but its a straight line from this to the fallacy in Cogito Ergo Sum. "I think, therefore I am" - but in the use of the I there is an assumption that the I already be's - is a being - and by the construction of human being (and the existence of the sentence) is a thinking thing.

So Human Beings dud. Human's are okay though.

My stars
So far
No one's callin me home
Space brain
Vagabond
Living on my own
Come on ye faithful
You know all you people should come to me
I'll make you arms work
And I'll make your legs work
I'll make you see

Well I swear by the air
I'll be made to breathe
You'll pay very dear for this banishing deed
The power alone stored in my little hand
Could melt the Eiffel Tower
Turn the Sphinx into sand
Oh no
Thar she blows
Spreadin crazy news
All night
Cannonball
Loves to light the fuse
And everyone blows up
and nobody grows up
to fill Dad's shoes
But that doesn't matter
cuz no little boys really wanted to
I stared at the squall line
I stared at the fault line
I see a funnel black there
I think I see a crack there
Landscapes alive
And it's movin my feet
All I need's a Holocaust
To make my day complete

(Actually, I should put this after my post on the Pim Fortuyn thread too)

Human bodies definatley suck, mine won't work properly. I've been sick and ill for days and today I thought I'd be okay to go into work. (I ahve loads to do and I'm bored shitless staring at the same four walls) Felt wiped out by tube journey, went to meeting, threw up, left. Home again, same four walls, all food still disgusting. And it's not fair. Why won't my body work? WHY? WHY?

(I know I've chucked a bit of a Violet Elizabeth here, and I'm sorry, but I have fallen into that self-pitying thing of being ill and wanting to go home. I hate being ill and I'm really bad at it. Only bad toast jokes can cheer me now

Anna, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

And my sodding bloody browser at home chops off the end of everything I write. ..

Anna, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I am sorry I cannot help you. I am never ill.

I think it helps to take a Taoist view on life.

Pete, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Is this a taoist/toast thing Pete? I thought of that but it was shot down somewhere in the screening process in my head.

Ronan, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

As you well know - there is no screening process in my head. Though a Taoist view of life and health is potentially a key contributor to my unbreakability.

Pete, Wednesday, 8 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Even the Tao has its weak spots, Pete;> Karma will therefore poke a stick at your invincibility....

Feel better, Anna. Been there: where the spirit is willing as hell, but the body won't cooperate.......
