Do you? How could it be improved? Would it improve under Rupert?

What if Disney buy it? or Man U? or Michael Jackson?

one month passes...
now tabloid history docs have joined the soft porn/true crime mix: GREAT HEROES: HANNIBAL ("without the lecture" said the trailer...). The one I watched on Erzsebeth Bathory ("Most Evil woman in History") was astonishingly rub, but they do interview real academiXoR, so you get teenytiny fragments of actual useful fact in among the blurry re-enactments. (Such as, in her case: her relatives were after her estates after her husband died...)

CSI had a vomit-cam moment in the final ep of the series: a model throwing up, and the PoV followed the chunks up and out between her teeth!!

I haf also grown to like "Who Are You?" more since it was used as the theme-music here.

four weeks pass...
the question isnt wethter or ot he cares, of course he does its the fact that with the power and financial resources he has along with a 1/3 market share he can make it more popuar. (so what) well not quite becuase then he will be able to "sponsor" the movies the news, the sponsor of course being BSKYB. He would create a demand and then make it so u had to pay, hes shown this in his previous aquistions of sport you got it "free" with sky then you had to buy sky sports now you pay individually. He cares alright any way for him to increase his power and he will be the first in line

six years pass...

Five's just getting worse.

What's the point of obtaining the rights to the archive of all those interviews Bernard Braden did with various celebrities in 1968 (including Scott Walker, and we never saw any of THAT one) and making a documentary out of it when all you do is show approx. three seconds of each interview and cram the rest of it with commentary of the two-month-old-with-Down's-syndrome-could-have-done-better standard and the same old shitty sixties stock shots because obv 20-yr-old viewers with goldfish attention span and plankton-level intelligence need to have the sixties explained to them over and over a billion fucking times?

.. unless this is a 'taster' of a series to be?

Mark G, Tuesday, 2 December 2008 12:13 (seventeen years ago)

Well if it was then it put me right off watching any of the rest of it and I'll just wait for the interviews to turn up on YouTube.

When are idiotic TV executives going to learn?

Brother Belcher (Marcello Carlin), Tuesday, 2 December 2008 12:16 (seventeen years ago)

Last night's final episode wasn't too bad whenever the programme's supposed subjects were permitted to get a word in - Vanessa Redgrave and Caroline Coon were very good.

Simon Dee's story about Sammy Davis Jr being refused entry to the BBC bar because he was black was, if true (it was Simon Dee so one can never be sure), beyond disgraceful.

sounds like bs to me.

Personally I would have liked to have heard and seen more of Bernard Braden himself. His is a rather sad story.
