haha I have to say Roxy otm....I was reading this and when gravel nominated me I was pretty surprised. I actually have prob started more negative threads on ILX in the last 3 and a half years than anyone but you know, I have a random debilitating illness, it's not my fault! (this is mostly okay now so nobody panic, if anyone was!) they were seldom if ever negative towards others I guess...just grim. thanks though!

I think the idea of Matt as negative is definitely not how Matt is IRL but maybe on ILE it comes across that way. I see Matt basically guffawing at the end of all of those one liners...

There are tons of people around here who contribute really positively, I don't really want to single people out as I think the value of the board is the collective element, sure it can suck here but in line with what I said above I have got some pretty great advice on ILE over the years...and have had to lean on it at times along with real life friends/family etc...

Jaq is also super nice in person.

matt dc is negative about negative threads, more than anything else that i can see. usually his contributions to threads are reasoned, informative and fair

Kenan, I didn't intend this thread to be a simple popularity contest, a "who's yr fave poster" thread. No, I wanted to talk about the people who don't succumb to bickering, to petty snark and zing, or to hopeless pessimism. I wanted to celebrate the folks who keep the ILX vessel righted on its path to glorious lols, the people who are the first to pump bilge when a nasty sock collision causes 'er to take on water or who mend our sails when a meta thread tears them asunder.

And I must say, with an attitude like that, you are not doing yr nominations count a lick of good.

I personally think that such a thread would be executed in bad faith, however.

this is kind of in bad faith if it's just to praise people who are relentlessly positive...that is a good quality but it seems a big reduction to say that that's the main facet of positive contribution to ILX, hence why this thread inevitably veers towards just being "posters who are great"...not really attacking you libcrypt, just saying...

Abbot = all-star positive team member. She is like a big sign that says I AM NICE AND I WILL SAY NICE THINGS AND IMPROVE YOUR DAY. Ned is also a ray of sunshine, though I see less of him than once I did :(. Almost the best thing about Ned is that he is so well-loved. Offers hope that life can be executed properly. Nabisco is super-positive not in being positive all the time, but in offering benefit of sagacity, re: numerous topics. Others include Scott and J0hn for being genius about interesting stuff, plus scott is sometimes hilarious. Roxy for not saying stupid shit, ever, as far as I can tell. Deej for being right about stuff. Bimble for being more goth than X. Hoos for offering congratulations to any/all. Etc, etc.
