Are you a sailor on the seas of paperwork?

It's fun to charter an accountant, and sail the wide accountan-sea

That fortuneteller said my aura is beige, and my lifeline doesn't exactly stop, it just fades.

I think it can be taken as read that the majority of ILXors are slaving away inside the machinery of enormous corporations.

i come to ilx to not think about this
― THE HIPSTER DILEMMA (call all destroyer), Wednesday, 21 January 2009 20:13 (seventeen years ago)
Really, snoball? I tend not to imagine ILXors as particularly corporate. I imagine people in mid-sized workplaces with tasks segmented clearly enough that they don't much have to think of themselves as meaningless cogs in much grander structures. (I mean, my work is ultimately on behalf of an international publicly traded corporation, but on a day-to-day basis I am doing specific concrete tasks with specific other people, not navigating a hellish bureaucracy of filling out triplicate forms whose end purpose is completely obscure to me and submitting them to any one of six supervisors whose demands I need an org chart to fully understand.)

Don't forget the academics. And librarians.
― Barack History Month (Oilyrags), Wednesday, 21 January 2009 20:35 (seventeen years ago)
They fit that description, don't they? Mid-sized workplace, clear and non-obscure tasks, don't have to feel like cogs?
― nabisco, Wednesday, 21 January 2009 20:38 (seventeen years ago)
Never heard of them.
