Well, Houdini's out. He couldn't even take a lil' punch to the stomach.

Chun-Li has been defeated millions of times by Ryu, E. Honda, Dhalsim, Balrog, Vega, M. Bison, Sagat, Ken, Zangief, Blanca and Guile, so she's out.

remember that thread that got derailed into who would win in a fight between bruce lee and whoever (mike tyson?), that got derailed into who would win in a fight between a bear and a gorilla? simpler times.

Tracy Michael Jordan Catalano (Jordan), Tuesday, 27 January 2009 03:32 (seventeen years ago)

Is this Braveheart sans balls, or with?

the maximum value that ZS obtains given its constraint is 8 (Z S), Tuesday, 27 January 2009 03:33 (seventeen years ago)

is terminator 2 = t-1000?

Lamp, Tuesday, 27 January 2009 03:33 (seventeen years ago)

luke skywalker didn't make it past round one and he took out boba fett, so he's out.

Tracy Michael Jordan Catalano (Jordan), Tuesday, 27 January 2009 03:33 (seventeen years ago)

really feelin' this one btw

Lamp, Tuesday, 27 January 2009 03:33 (seventeen years ago)

Exactly!

i am really intrigued by the "well so-and-so was already beaten by X" argument. i mean omar little co-won the last poll. he was killed by a little kid!!

s1ocki, Tuesday, 27 January 2009 03:41 (seventeen years ago)

Beatrix Kiddo
Jason Bourne
Reed Richards

I feel like it's one of these three

Barack You Like A Husseincane (HI DERE), Tuesday, 27 January 2009 03:42 (seventeen years ago)

I considered that the argument might be useless since most if not all of the nominees have been defeated or severely beaten down at some point. The strength of the argument depends on how understandable the defeat was. Getting your ass kicked by Jesus (apocalypse version) = understanding. Getting your ass kicked by some guy on the street = out of contention. Houdini couldn't survive a lil' blow to the tummy. Chun-Li is not significantly better than the other World Warriors, and in many cases is worse. They're out.

Sam would not win but would not be killed either

bnw, Tuesday, 27 January 2009 03:50 (seventeen years ago)

Robocop - okay he's got near perfect aim with the machine pistol and almost like ESP awareness couple with a his metal armor dude is a real threat to most of the other competitors. however have to say i don't like his chances in the end game against both models of terminator. odds 7:2

Omar Little - yeah idk about this dude i mean def he's crafty and the sawed-off can do some damage and hell yes he can take some bullets but i'd keep expecting him to get run up on by like, sonic. odds 15:1

Robin Hood - was played by kevin coster in a movie and has a bow and arrow. odds at 40:1 and tbf any bet is robbing the stupid and giving to me

Mr. Kurtz - man enough to face the darkness, maybe but lacks the will and the strength to exterminate these brutes. for mescalin fans odds 65:1

Braveheart - too many loners, iconoclasts, and last men standing here for him to rally an army. just stresses what a missed opportunity it was not to give him a dragon in the movie. odds 55:1

Lamp, Tuesday, 27 January 2009 03:54 (seventeen years ago)

reed richards is the brains in this one but seems pretty easily distracted.

Tracy Michael Jordan Catalano (Jordan), Tuesday, 27 January 2009 04:02 (seventeen years ago)

jason bourne & ronin both have spy tricks, bourne's got the youth but ronin's been living this shit.

Tracy Michael Jordan Catalano (Jordan), Tuesday, 27 January 2009 04:04 (seventeen years ago)

I'm going with Reed. Jordan's right that he's the classic absent minded mad scientist (ooh! mad scientist poll!) but he also has one of the craziest and most underrated superpowers ever, esp. if a flexadude starts brainstorming and REALLY gets creative. Plus the hundreds of weapons he's invented to whoop on Dr. Doom and them with.

Dear Tacos, how are you? I am fine. The weather is nice. I miss yo (Oilyrags), Tuesday, 27 January 2009 04:10 (seventeen years ago)

T2 has the same power, but got beat by a gurl. That shows how important the mind is here. Reed will never understand women, but he'll never lose a fight to one.

Dear Tacos, how are you? I am fine. The weather is nice. I miss yo (Oilyrags), Tuesday, 27 January 2009 04:12 (seventeen years ago)

Boba Fett - not a good fight for a dude the relies so much on firepower imo don't know enuff about sw for corny puns or w/e so: odds at 25:1

Beatrix Kiddo - dumb enough to bring a sword to a gunfight but fast and tenacious. can she find a way to cold-end a t-1000 though? if she and bourne can team-up and take out the bots i think she has it in her to kill him and take the title. odds 12:1

Jason Bourne - this doesn't really involve running away from other white dudes so i'm not feeling him. also is supposed to actually hate killing people for no reason. on the other hand he's one of the few team players here he's smart and fast but probably not smart and fast enough. odds 16:1

Reed Richards - has a real good chance. only a couple of players can even damage him and he's the smartest dude on the field. also a natural leader biggest downside is his hatred of violence. odds 3:1

Buffy - most of her slayer abilities are the same things the others have: superhuman strength and agility, heightened awareness however she does have healing abilities. frankly probably would have had more success in rounds one or two - more monsters. odds 20:1

Lamp, Tuesday, 27 January 2009 04:14 (seventeen years ago)

Bruce Lee - i feel bad for real life dudes like him or spiderman in these polls they just don't have the goods. odds 75:1

Chun-Li - energy blasts can damage reed and she gets a least two shots at everybody. the vs. tatsunoko games prove she can kill a robot, a samurai and a cybernetic neoroider have to say she's a threat in a least two dimensions. odds 8:1

Houdini - perfectly safe as long as no one punches him the stomach. odds 99:1

Daredevil - nearly inhuman senses and martial arts skills. no real range options not invulnerable to bullets and blind. yeah, no. odds 30:1

Mork - ...

Lamp, Tuesday, 27 January 2009 04:27 (seventeen years ago)

It's official: Houdini's stomach hardsonning will plague him for eternity. Should've worn a extra layers if you were so delicate, magic man.

the maximum value that ZS obtains given its constraint is 8 (Z S), Tuesday, 27 January 2009 04:29 (seventeen years ago)

how is spiderman a real life dude??

can Bruce Lee be Green Lantern's cabby (Kato) in this poll? - that way he is fictional and cannot die.

CaptainLorax, Tuesday, 27 January 2009 05:49 (seventeen years ago)

Reed Richards is smart enough to come up with ways to defeat most of these folks. The only question mark is the Wizard of Oz, since I don't really know how great magical powers he has. Reed is a science dude and I think he would quite easily beat science-based opponents like cyborgs and robots, but magic is somewhat more difficult.

Anyway, I'm putting my vote on Reed.

Tuomas, Tuesday, 27 January 2009 07:43 (seventeen years ago)

yeah the smart vote makes sints this time. t2 will fuck some people up tho

spo0tiful (tremendoid), Tuesday, 27 January 2009 07:58 (seventeen years ago)

he will scrape out robocops face like an oyster

spo0tiful (tremendoid), Tuesday, 27 January 2009 08:00 (seventeen years ago)

Does Buffy have the help of Giles and the scoobies? Because they took down a God, and shitty robot terminator things (Adam). So if so, yeah, Buffy. If not, I'll have to think about it some more.

a hoy hoy, Tuesday, 27 January 2009 11:24 (seventeen years ago)

uh tuomas, have you ever actually seen (or read) the wizard of oz?

Tracy Michael Jordan Catalano (Jordan), Tuesday, 27 January 2009 14:21 (seventeen years ago)

No, that's why I said I don't know the extent of his magical powers. If he's in the same league as Willow, then Reed will probably beat him easily, but if he has Zatanna-level powers, it will be much harder to win him.

Tuomas, Tuesday, 27 January 2009 14:33 (seventeen years ago)

lololololololololol

Barack You Like A Husseincane (HI DERE), Tuesday, 27 January 2009 14:36 (seventeen years ago)

A Hoy Hoy, I don't the characters can get any external help, otherwise Picard would've had The Enterprise and Vader the whole Empire to back them up in the previous match. They're strictly on their own.

Tuomas, Tuesday, 27 January 2009 14:39 (seventeen years ago)

for a second i thought you were using "a hoy hoy" as an expression

s1ocki, Tuesday, 27 January 2009 14:41 (seventeen years ago)

A hoy hoy, will do that from now on!

Tuomas, Tuesday, 27 January 2009 14:42 (seventeen years ago)

he doesn't have any powers, tuomas, is the point.

(sorry to spoil the wizard of oz)

Tracy Michael Jordan Catalano (Jordan), Tuesday, 27 January 2009 14:51 (seventeen years ago)

Yeah, he's just a dude behind a curtain.

snoball, Tuesday, 27 January 2009 14:54 (seventeen years ago)

Why is he called "the wizard" then?

Tuomas, Tuesday, 27 January 2009 14:57 (seventeen years ago)

oh boy

s1ocki, Tuesday, 27 January 2009 14:59 (seventeen years ago)

he pretends to be a wizard. they only find out he isn't at the end.

lex pretend, Tuesday, 27 January 2009 15:00 (seventeen years ago)

just to save time, gilbert arenas also does not have any magical powers

congratulations (n/a), Tuesday, 27 January 2009 15:00 (seventeen years ago)

neither does harry potter - in the end it's all a dream brought on by years of neglect and abuse
