I am old and shaking my fist at these youngsters, who wear their hair in a manner I do not approve of.

Dear Tacos, how are you? I am fine. The weather is nice. I miss yo (Oilyrags), Tuesday, 3 February 2009 00:40 (sixteen years ago)

Was hoping for pix.

muomus (libcrypt), Tuesday, 3 February 2009 00:44 (sixteen years ago)

some great human beings have worn the mullet proudly and unironically

full disclosure: I wore a mullet in HS (class of 87) and it can be viewed clearly in my graduation pix, which you will never, ever see.

xp - I am not, however, a great human being

yeah i feel like mullets (historically speaking) can be totally inadvertent whereas fauxhawk constitutes a clear aesthetic choice and is thus more arrrrrgworthy

CLAPSOCK (John Justen), Tuesday, 3 February 2009 00:50 (sixteen years ago)

Worst is the dude shaving his head everywhere but a rectangle at the middle top that has grown into a long ponytail, and worst worst is when he hasn't kept up on the shaving bit so it's this taut ponytail over oily fluffy short hair.

i'm shy (Abbott), Tuesday, 3 February 2009 00:54 (sixteen years ago)

Oh man, should probably have included combover and whitey dreads!

Dear Tacos, how are you? I am fine. The weather is nice. I miss yo (Oilyrags), Tuesday, 3 February 2009 00:56 (sixteen years ago)

Combover is kind of endearing.

i'm shy (Abbott), Tuesday, 3 February 2009 00:56 (sixteen years ago)

First I heard about it.

> In Japan, they call men with comb-overs "bar code men" (バーコード人), referring to the striations caused by the comb and how similar it is to the UPC on products. The "barcode style" is called "bākōdo na kamigata" (バーコードな髪型).[1]

For this reason alone, I am very pleased I started this poll.

Yeah, in Animal Crossing, they call the combover-sporting, insurance-selling weasel "such a barcode."

i'm shy (Abbott), Tuesday, 3 February 2009 01:10 (sixteen years ago)

too bad it's not a sheep with a combover so they could call him "such a baaaaaaaacode"

business in the front; party in the back!

PARTLYMAN (PappaWheelie V), Tuesday, 3 February 2009 01:56 (sixteen years ago)

The female under-shave, or "slut cut".

╓abies, Tuesday, 3 February 2009 02:01 (sixteen years ago)

rabies: does that mean something besides "smooth snatch"? Cause I'm not coming up with anything.

fauxhawk worse than mullet for reasons discussed above. now, fauxhawk vs. ironic mullet...

now is the time to winterize your manscape (will), Tuesday, 3 February 2009 02:06 (sixteen years ago)

Are you talking about some kind of rivethead hair, rabies?

i'm shy (Abbott), Tuesday, 3 February 2009 02:13 (sixteen years ago)

Oilyrags--yeah, it's basically a bowl cut, shaved to the skin (usually not kept well), with longer hair on top.

^like this but not styled or washed and just like parted in the middle and maybe on some girl who chews tobacco.

╓abies, Tuesday, 3 February 2009 02:16 (sixteen years ago)

I don't even know if I think it's the worst, just wanted to bring it up.

╓abies, Tuesday, 3 February 2009 02:17 (sixteen years ago)

I always associated that haircut with industrial music fans, not slutty slut sluts!

i'm shy (Abbott), Tuesday, 3 February 2009 02:18 (sixteen years ago)

i associate it with me, at least twice in my youf :-(

nabisock (PappaWheelie V), Tuesday, 3 February 2009 02:19 (sixteen years ago)

Slut cut must be local slang, I dunno.

╓abies, Tuesday, 3 February 2009 02:21 (sixteen years ago)

it was "surfer bowl" in the mid-80s

"alternative cut" in the early 90s

i thought the dude who had a "wolf tail" was cool in the 80s (not to be confused with rat tail)

I am L&R oriented, so I thought of Hopey.

Dear Tacos, how are you? I am fine. The weather is nice. I miss yo (Oilyrags), Tuesday, 3 February 2009 02:51 (sixteen years ago)

Ha! Sloppy white Hopey. Not that cholas and goths are that dissimilar fashion-wise (and not nec that Hopey is a chola).

i'm shy (Abbott), Tuesday, 3 February 2009 03:04 (sixteen years ago)

She's more goth, isn't she?

The "rat tail", surely.

Ein Herz für Briten (Trackpants Tree), Tuesday, 3 February 2009 07:03 (sixteen years ago)

This the most embarrassing thing to have to admit, but... I'm kind of coming around on the ironic mullet.
