In the spirit of the 100 greatest video games ever poll from last year, is it time for the 100 greatest ILx threads ever?

this is a good idea if and only if you do the reveal in classic ilm style including brief blurbs about each thread from posters who voted for them

max, Thursday, 5 February 2009 13:22 (sixteen years ago)

This is what I was considering. Reveal over a weekend, classic style.

on one hand this idea is stupid, but on the other hand I will happily write 500 words about the top gear dude jet powered idiot machine thread

Glans Kafka (MPx4A), Thursday, 5 February 2009 13:26 (sixteen years ago)

suggested annoying prefix: "^^^^^oh look ILX!!! you're going to poll me! On the internet!!!"

Glans Kafka (MPx4A), Thursday, 5 February 2009 13:27 (sixteen years ago)

The blurbs might be fun, the politics of it means you won't get so much of the classic "WTF WERE YOU THINKING" aggro that you get when people discuss games or books or music. Possibility of Hilarious Clusterfuck vs Possibility of Snoozelicious Clustercuddle, is the issue.

That So Not Gonna Happen thread will win, truly it is the Hey Ya of threads.

Actually I'm pretty sure L-Jag did this about a year ago. What usually happens is that no actual good threads get nominated and everyone votes for the thread were a 2004-era meme was coined or some guy went mental.

Didn't LJ already do this?

Neurotic in a Nuts Way (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 5 February 2009 13:40 (sixteen years ago)

(xxpost) to be fair, isn't that most threads?

snoball, Thursday, 5 February 2009 13:41 (sixteen years ago)

also people would automatically treat this as funniest or most memesy threads which != best threads necessarily
