I hope this hasn't been asked already. Also as a meta question:do you go on holidays on your own/with friends/with big groups of friends.
I prefer the idea of going with a small number of people, 5 or 6 at the very most. It eliminates the risk of finding out mates who become intolerable assholes when tired or forced to travel for any kind of lengthy time spell.

Although me and C____ have talked about going TRAVELLING at some point in the year but when I will be able to afford that is another thing entirely...

I agree with the theory of going with ten or so mates but I don't know if there's ten of us who'd all agree on where to go. Last year I went with two other people and me and my best friend got on fine, but the other guy became an intolerable asshole who we haven't talked to since. It felt like some sick fantasy world where we were his parents. He used to moan at the restaurants we went to and all. Jesus.

I'm off to Glasto as well. anyone for an IL* Glasto meetup, or will we all be at the Sinister one?
I'm also hoping to go on holiday to Lebanon in the Autumn.
and for the big group/small group/solo holiday thing - I never go on my own, nearly always holidaying with my special friend. once though a load of people I know went to New Orleans for a wedding. That was G*R*A*T*E - a big gang of people all staying in different places meeting up in the evening for BOOZE and bumping into each other in the streets during the day. RoXoR.

One for N. perhaps: why am I fab at finding stuff on the net EXCEPT cheap plane tickets? seems everyone was on about "oo and i flew to nice for 2p" a month or so back. and now when i fancy a short break to Vienna, i find i can't do better than a couple hundred quid. nyargh.

Actually, this is as good an opportunity as any to ask: DAN PERRY - CAN YOU GET ME TIX FOR TANGLEWOOD THIS YEAR? Doesn't really matter what - anything that looks good. Is your better half performing?

I am off to my holiday home in Rye which will be most delightful, though v.v. boring and I will probably be forced to get a job.

I'll quite happily pay £100+ for one! I'll even be Tompaulin's roadie if they'll let me.
