I just started my new job yesterday! It's for a "healthy living" website. I obviously have a lot to offer. Its two months, guaranteed, good day rate, five days a week...!

Tracer Hand, Wednesday, 15 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

So what are you having Tracer?

I'll take a Tanqueray and Tonic, please.

Ms. S., Wednesday, 15 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

A boiler-maker I think, just to overdo it. Oh and help yourself by the way - I don't think the owner is here!

Tracer Hand, Wednesday, 15 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Tracer Hand, Wednesday, 15 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

What's in a boiler maker by the way? sounds scary.

Ms. S., Wednesday, 15 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Ms. S., Wednesday, 15 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I'll have a couple shots of Tequila and wash it down with a Molson Golden.

Chris, Wednesday, 15 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I'll have a gin martini with olives, thanks. (More responsibility at work = better likelyhood of big raise later on!)

Dan Perry, Wednesday, 15 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

A good cosmopolitan, please. I am so predictable. Then later a *really* high end champagne.

Ned -- epicurianism in addition to all your other qualities? In that case let's hear your opinion of this Chilean viognier -- my aunt and uncle import this stuff; Thanksgiving at their place is always a treat.

*blush*

How convenient, my cousin's wife is from a Chilean family. Send me the details; I'm guessing she can help me track down a bottle if I can't find it around here.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 15 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Ned, is by chance your real name Patsy or Edina?

Ms. S., Thursday, 16 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Or Saffron?

Dan Perry, Thursday, 16 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

If having good stuff happen in your job area means designing nice ads that go in magazines and look cool than hooray. If having good stuff happen means getting your performance review and getting a nice raise than boo. Since I had mine yesterday and didn't get one. Am I a crass, shallow yuppie who's focused on money and material possesions? Maybe; so is everybody I know in San Francisco. I do know that I must make many thousands less than all my friends. I'm the only one I know that lives in a studio apartment and doesn't have a car or a stock portfolio. I guess things could be worse; I could be out of work. Then I'd really be drinking.

I split rent on a house but also have no car or stock portfolio (unless you count the life insurance policy). I say fret not -- and you live in SF, why care about a car?
