in the national portrait(sp) gallery yesterday i saw a oil on panel of britten and pears, britten had his arm arround pears and was shown in full profile, looking so devoted to his companion and muse-Pear was looking foreward with a look of passion,a sort of you and me against the world gaze. i spent half an hour looking at it, and even tomorrow,i am so homesick for david. This needs to be a conversation so i dont know discuss pears and britten

Discuss why it reminded you of home. Discuss things that remind one of home.

Sea air. Scenery. Hills. All of which are in short supply in Ormskirk.

I thought this thread was you announcing that you were home anthony. :(

I'm sorry you're homesick. When I was abroad I was so excited about going I didn't think about missing home. Until I was there and it hit me like a ton of bricks.

While in the NP gallery did you the painting of the Bronte sisters done by their brother Branwell who subsequently painted himself out? love that.

Hills, large open spaces and moorlands, community spirit, decent public transport, and a great city where you can sit and watch the world go by.

God I hate Ormskirk sometimes.

Trying to find an image of this picture so I can figure out what you're really talking about

To be reminded of Chadwell Heath all I need are
1)crap shops,
2)charvers
3)those old-fashioned streetlights, y'know, the ones that are basically poles with dustbins on top that glow orange.
Hoo-bloody-ray.
