Oh dear. It seems a drug I was prescribed in '97 has had some rather wierd side effects for some people. I read the story http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/health/newsid_1991000/1991058.stmate last night and haven't slept much. Does anybody know any more about this? How long after taking the drug could the depressive side effects manifest themselves? I had a very rough '98 that I've never been able to fully explain and I'm a bit worried.

I'm on Accutane right now. About a week after I started taking it, that kid flew a plane into a bank! I knew about the side effects when I started. The dermotologist made it clear that kids have committed suicide while on the drug but that it wasn't clear if their suicide was linked to the medication or not. I also got the ten page booklet that article was talking about. I haven't noticed any signficant changes in my mood or whatever, but it's hard to tell because I stopped taking an anti-depressant right around when I started Accutane. I stop taking it next month.
