it's maybe the most inappropriate comedy on tv right now. the cocaine scene last week was out there.

yeah he was hilarious in pineapple express, in tropic thunder... his character sucked so it wasn't his fault. the scene in last week's episode when he finds out that he's a chaperone was hilar

it's a pretty slow burn but i like it. the second episode was good despite will ferrell. if stiller shows up, i'm bailing.

liked him in Pineapple Express but I don't know about this...basically all through the first episode I kept thinking it was like the middle section of a Will Ferrell movie (the part where the comically unselfconscious and/or redneck athlete thinks his career is over before the big comeback at the end) before I even saw WF's name in the credits. dude seems capable of not jacking WF's schtick but obviously isn't concerned with trying not to.

I like this more than The Fist Foot Way although i'm exactly not sure why. It's definitely not laugh out loud funny, but there's something there.

oh yeah: when i rev'd fist foot way i didn't know about this project, and said something like 'feelin it; it's a bit like a pilot for a series tho'. but they could just as easily have made that situation the basis for a series, and made this one into a film.

ok this episode was great. the principals name is the same as my last name. and everyone calls him by his last name. so that's a little weird for me.

the stevie janowski character has gotten more enjoyable. i couldn't take him at the beginning.

this show is amazing. the will Ferrell Ric Flair impersonation episode kind of sucked and had me worried but the past two have picked right up where the first one left off.

I put a big Kenny powers quote in a thread on ilm about "Spoonman'" but no one got it

Never finished watching S4 of this for some reason.

mcbride just nails that guy so well. just total south georgia. it's not even a case of 'i know this guy', it's 'i know these guys'. maybe i'm forgetting something but i would have to think this is easily the most underrated hbo show, as hbo comedies go i'd only put larry sanders and maaaybe curb above it (and i LOVE veep and silicon valley).

I do think that S1 dwarfs the other seasons by a fair amount (tho S4 is probably second best iirc)

i've been rewatching this and am p assured in my conviction that seasons 1 and 4 are the absolute best, with 3 and 2 after that, but like even the 2nd one is pretty great, esp the michael pena scenes

finally got around to this on Prime. first few episodes were grating but I'm glad I read the thread and stuck with it cos it's had me howling since. Kenny popping out the dude's eye. Kenny Powers 'freestyling' on his girlfriend's track. Steve making awkward jizz sound effects, "that's your dick, buttfucking her". Kenny coming onto the field riding a fuckin' donkey.

steve has got to be the most hilariously pathetic character in the history of american television

when he was throwing out gangster lingo in Season 1 was also hilarious. I feel like everybody knows a dude like this that they've tried to put out of their memory.
