1 - Go to “wikipedia.” Hit “Random Article”

The first random Wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.

2 - Go to “Random quotations”

The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.

3 - Go to flickr and click on “explore the last seven days”

Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

4 - Use Photoshop/MS Paint or similar to put it all together.

This meme started a while ago, and I think it's only resurfaced now that the "25 Random Things" phenomenon has shown Facebook users that Notes can be used for the transmission of surveys, chain letters, and the like.

Click "All Sizes" and download from there. If it doesn't have an "all sizes" button I don't use that pic. But someone complained to me about using their picture, so I won't be using the "interesting" link. A creative commons search would be better, if not randomer.

Having said that, the fact that the "Violet Green Swallow" title and bird happen to match, is pure coincidence.

How do you guys go through the process?

1. In order keep fellow flickrites happy and simulate randomness, search for "creative commons" and sort that list by "most interesting". Take the xth photo, after checking that it is "some rights reserved".

2. Wikipedia - same.

3. Quote - same.

FWIW it is dead easy to get images from Flickr when using Opera. Just turn CSS styling off - bob's your uncle, the picture is there unimpeded by floating invisagifs.

*they're a little good at least. streets ahead my Paint skills.

I could not believe my luck.

weird how 95% of the most interesting (= most viewed, commented, and favorited, right?) portraits on flickr are of pretty girls, and the other 5% are of craggy homeless guys captured in craggy, artistic poses. or maybe that isn't so much weird as it is totally predictable.

not that Norks would ever have a craggy homeless guy in their album art. they're not that kind of band.
