Anyone been watching?

Heartrate just returned to normal after Ireland narrowly winning that ugly game. I believe in BOD once again!

Also GREAT game last night. Ireland France and last night's game were both fantastic.

Local Garda, Saturday, 28 February 2009 20:18 (seventeen years ago)

Don't follow Union but was laughing hard at my Dad on the phone getting v butthurt at the terrible cheating referee who stole the game from poor old England.

was lolling at Martin Johnson swearing ostentatiously in the crowd etc. he is such a wanker.

Because the cricket wasn't going well i decided to watch the rugby on BBC1 and the england game is the worst game ive ever watched not involving scotland. Good result though(yeah yeah i'll support england at cricket but not football or rugby union so shoot me).

leigh exodus (country matters), Saturday, 21 March 2009 09:58 (sixteen years ago)

don't have a ticket but hoping I'll get one down there. I have been working for BBC a bit recently again so I have a rare bit of cash...figure it's worth using.

Local Garda, Saturday, 21 March 2009 10:12 (sixteen years ago)

leigh exodus (country matters), Sunday, 22 March 2009 00:15 (sixteen years ago)

leigh exodus (country matters), Sunday, 22 March 2009 00:17 (sixteen years ago)

Local Garda, Sunday, 22 March 2009 01:20 (sixteen years ago)

we deserve it. as o'driscolls said at half time v England in the 43-14 (or whatever score) croke park game, in an embarassing exposé of rugby's upper management clichés, "FUCKING VICTORIOUS"

ps: tommy bowe is unsung player of the tournament.

Local Garda, Sunday, 22 March 2009 01:32 (sixteen years ago)

Aye, I was at Murrayfield when Scotland did the Grand Slam in 1990 beating England for the Calcutta, Triple Crown and Grand Slam. Total mad fucking shite. Shame they've been pish ever since. I still have the memory of Tony Stanger right in front of me with that try imprinted on my brain.

side note: FUCK'S SAKE THAT WAS NEARLY 20 YEARS AGO OMG I AM OLD

side note x 2: scotland are now pish and I don't care about rugby enough to care about how bad scotland are any more

ailsa, Sunday, 22 March 2009 01:34 (sixteen years ago)

they have taken the rugby and written their own history into it

leigh exodus (country matters), Sunday, 22 March 2009 01:35 (sixteen years ago)

A mate of mine went over ticketless and managed to get one for 150. Was welling up a bit after O'Gara's drop goal. Agree about Bowe too, the way he claimed the ball for his try was a joy to behold.

Number None, Sunday, 22 March 2009 01:35 (sixteen years ago)

he wrote his personality onto that ball, he etched his nation's victory over the hopes of a field

leigh exodus (country matters), Sunday, 22 March 2009 01:37 (sixteen years ago)

I was surprised there were no tickets at all, was annoying but the buzz of being in the city was worth the train fare. I still wish I'd been in the ground I guess but great day.

brian o'driscoll has had his wobbles but what a fucking six nations too. and kearney. and heaslip/ferris. so fucking glad ireland finally did it, I feel like I'm more into football but rugby union is the best sport in the world right now imo.

Local Garda, Sunday, 22 March 2009 01:48 (sixteen years ago)

(and not cos of today, it's been this way for 3/4 years)

Local Garda, Sunday, 22 March 2009 01:49 (sixteen years ago)

leigh exodus (country matters), Sunday, 22 March 2009 01:50 (sixteen years ago)

it's a great bunch of lads

Local Garda, Sunday, 22 March 2009 01:54 (sixteen years ago)

they respect the referees, they respect the ball, and they respect the rugby

leigh exodus (country matters), Sunday, 22 March 2009 01:57 (sixteen years ago)

o'gara interview on bbc pretty beautiful.

apart from highlighting the joy of actually being in the stadium not outside.

Local Garda, Sunday, 22 March 2009 02:05 (sixteen years ago)

there's no law against a great bunch of lads outside the stadium

leigh exodus (country matters), Sunday, 22 March 2009 02:08 (sixteen years ago)
