Hey New Zealanders, who should I get internet through because Vodafone are charging us by the knuckle for every MB trafficked and I'm seriously not cool with this cuz fuck an internet cafe srsly!!!

The hell? How does this work? I was in NZ a few years ago and shocked at how slow it was...what's the problem with fast, cheap internet?

We signed up while still severely jet lagged and assuming that it was just a semi-reasonable flat rate for unlimited use, like back home. I guess they bill by volume, and the price is very steep. Ridiculous paying fifteen times as much for slow, unreliable connections. I can't afford to talk directly with my family or girlfriend because of this shit.

No wonder I see internet cafes on every main street in Auckland.

There have got to be better options, though. This seems too crazy.

sorry rabies but internet is a fuckin scam in nz - i have been shocked and amazed by how cheap it is here in the US! we were with clear: they're a phone company/ISP. still expensive tho - our bill was usually round a $200 p/month with me skyping my bf all the time. we paid, i think, $75 p/month for 30g (this is all nz dollars, btw). you need to call them up and ask them to explain all the deals to you.
