I saw him pre-election on Larry King one night and I could tell something was seriously wrong with him. Apparently it was esophageal cancer? He barely had a voice last fall, and was clearly wasting away even then.

will always be remembered for BLUE STEEL at the very least, one of the all-time great nutjob performances

Ward Fowler, Monday, 16 March 2009 08:49 (sixteen years ago)

But he should be best remembered for his performance as Ron Silver himself in Heat Vision and Jack.

so was his transition to raving right wing lunatic caused by dementia?

film peak: Enemies, A Love Story

stage: very persuasive as scumbag producer in Speed-the-Plow

TV: as garment industry titan Jerry Lewis's son in a multi-episode arc of Wiseguy

Also good in Reversal of Judgment, despite Groucho Marx hair.

truthfully, the last time I thought about this guy was in 2004 when he was one of those 'lifelong democrats' who decided to support bush

? Dershowitz is a bigtime "let's sacrifice our civil liberties to fight terror" jerk.

from NYT obit:

“Ron’s politics, as far as I know, were not shared by anyone he knew, except for the people he knew because of his politics,” [his brother] Mitchell Silver said. He paused and added: “He told me that he did vote for Barack Obama in the end.”
