a search of the archives revealed that very little has been said about this book, which is quite strange. i'd consider it to be one of the greatest sports books ever and i'm sure many here would agree. so, thoughts? are there any other books of comparable quality which follow a sports team around for a few months which can boast such depth? for anyone who has read it lately, how has it aged?

I received this book as a gift, in 1990 or 1991. I cherished it. I never read it. My reading of it is indefinitely postponed. Maybe some time in the next 20 years. I still cherish it and look forward to it.

I did, actually, read a few pages now and then; I remember material about Chris Waddle which touched me.
