sorry pete.

ian, Wednesday, 18 March 2009 23:45 (sixteen years ago)

People always tell me that San Francisco is where New Yorkers go to die. I thought that was Boca Raton.

Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Wednesday, 18 March 2009 23:46 (sixteen years ago)

no, that was an oil drum in the east river

The Prices are .......... VERY AFFORDABLE!!! (omar little), Wednesday, 18 March 2009 23:46 (sixteen years ago)

How are you defining bay area?

unexpected item in bagging area (sarahel), Wednesday, 18 March 2009 23:47 (sixteen years ago)

9 counties that touch the bay

santa cruz is out

iatee, Wednesday, 18 March 2009 23:49 (sixteen years ago)

So we're saddled with Concord and Antioch and Livermore, then?

unexpected item in bagging area (sarahel), Wednesday, 18 March 2009 23:50 (sixteen years ago)

no wait, fuck that shit

iatee, Wednesday, 18 March 2009 23:51 (sixteen years ago)

marin + sf + peninsula + san jose + any city in the east bay where you can see water

iatee, Wednesday, 18 March 2009 23:52 (sixteen years ago)

San Jose is basically equivalent to Sacramento to me. I don't think it counts.

Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Wednesday, 18 March 2009 23:53 (sixteen years ago)

anyone can choose to make this about manhattan vs. sf, which I almost did

iatee, Wednesday, 18 March 2009 23:53 (sixteen years ago)

whatever you like counts

iatee, Wednesday, 18 March 2009 23:54 (sixteen years ago)

It would give a more comparable population base ... and we could argue that we grow more of our own food, and it might be entertaining to watch San Franciscans have to defend Antioch.

unexpected item in bagging area (sarahel), Wednesday, 18 March 2009 23:54 (sixteen years ago)

I think I might wind up voting for the Bay Area, actually? Maybe that would change if I ever lived there, instead of just having lots of really pleasant visits to SF.

nabisco, Wednesday, 18 March 2009 23:55 (sixteen years ago)

they have a river in Antioch. This would also include the bastion of bankruptcy, Vallejo.

unexpected item in bagging area (sarahel), Wednesday, 18 March 2009 23:55 (sixteen years ago)

Nabisco, you have probably not visited Antioch.

unexpected item in bagging area (sarahel), Wednesday, 18 March 2009 23:55 (sixteen years ago)

So, what are we talking about in terms of NYC? Just the five boroughs? Or are we including the Dirty Jerz and Connecticut?

Barackin' In the Free World (B.L.A.M.), Wednesday, 18 March 2009 23:56 (sixteen years ago)

Not to besmirch The Garden State...I spent four lovely years off exit 9A.

Barackin' In the Free World (B.L.A.M.), Wednesday, 18 March 2009 23:57 (sixteen years ago)

what about the nyc-areaaaa vs. the bay areaaaa
then new yorkers have to defend new jersey if we have to defend antioch

iatee, Wednesday, 18 March 2009 23:57 (sixteen years ago)

Isn't New Jersey where the curvy colombian woman lives?

unexpected item in bagging area (sarahel), Wednesday, 18 March 2009 23:57 (sixteen years ago)

iatee - fair enough.

unexpected item in bagging area (sarahel), Wednesday, 18 March 2009 23:58 (sixteen years ago)

sorry pete.

I feel this statement lacks the proper foundation to be accurate. You have never seen some of ours down here.

Not that either one of us has ever skated in any of them.

I would already have been doing so, if I could find a helmet in my head size.

I literally cannot.

So I old man skate, carving down the streets of Pasadena. Which is still pretty damn entertaining.

You should try out my board when you come down this weekend.

this is probably the hardest poll thread we've ever done, even in the pre-poll era "just write your answer out" days of "fucking v sucking"!!

San Francisco is the best city I've ever visited, but I'm pretty sure there's no way in hell I could afford to live there.

too many misters not enough sisters (milo z), Thursday, 19 March 2009 01:44 (sixteen years ago)

if you're willing to live with other people, it's not as impossibly expensive as manhattan

iatee, Thursday, 19 March 2009 01:46 (sixteen years ago)

my take on SF? It's like the worst part of Williamsburg with more hippies and more homeless people.

NY metropolitan area beats the rest of the world, no doubt.

dan selzer, Thursday, 19 March 2009 01:58 (sixteen years ago)

even though i was recently near SF for a little over 2 months, i only really got to spend 3 days in SF -- and that only as a tourist, seeing the touristy things and whatnot. SF was impressive enough, but i dunno if i could really judge esp. since i've lived near to and/or worked in NYC for over a decade now.

LOLBJ (Eisbaer), Thursday, 19 March 2009 02:04 (sixteen years ago)

SF appeals to my innate prejudices, provincial nature, and sentimentality. Must be them little cable cars, dim sum, fog, or some shit like that. Reality probably has little to do with it.

how many throws is the average cat gonna take before you need to replace it?

iatee, Thursday, 19 March 2009 20:59 (sixteen years ago)

2.5

Mr. Que, Thursday, 19 March 2009 20:59 (sixteen years ago)

I like idea of ushers throwing cats at the audience of a Paul Rudd movie.

Alex in SF, Thursday, 19 March 2009 20:59 (sixteen years ago)

that depends on the cat's disposition and what it had to eat earlier

I threw our cat at my brother a couple times when growing up. Perfect weapon. You don't want to get hit with an angry cat flying through the air with its claws out, it will scratch you up good.
