- whether to 'reunite' the boards when we move servers, either as a new entity or by 'scrapping' the ILM entity and simply having an "I Love Everything" with music included. This was supported by me and Tracer and a couple of others but most people hated the idea so the status quo seems likely to remain.
- when to move. We need to set a date, which is dependent on when the new server can be up an running, which is dependent on the overwhelming generosity of the person setting it up.
cheers Tom

- No preference on when, I'm just delighted a move is being organised, cheers to those setting it up.

Move date: 1st July 2002? I dunno teh dynamics of it all, so just ignore this suggestion if it's totally off the mark.
Thanks,

Actually, that makes it sound better than it would turn out to be.
And then I'm sure that there are loads of serious ILM folk that would be severely offended by the lack of seriousness on display by boring writers like myself.

ILE is the spot in the corner where the cool kids smoke and showily flip through their foucault and debord. deee-lovely, deee-liteful, deee-gorgeously deee-bored, deee-bragging about what raging sex maniac drug fiend drunks they are, they avoid eye contact, and sometimes they cry and throw stones at one another.

(Assuming it's technically do-able) We could always just formalize the idea of an ILX community by having a small but broad collection of linked topical forums instead of just music vs. everything else. eg. Music/Entertainment, Politics/News, Art/Literature, Announcements/Meetings, General Discussion.
The volume of both boards is probably large enough now as to be nearly unworkable as a single list of topics anyway. Other advantages I can think of right off is that in theory at least, categorization of threads is eliminated, and people can concentrate only in certain areas - if they so choose. The main disadvantage would be the slightly more complex format. It's a less unique format I think as well - so part of me doesn't even like the idea. Any thoughts?

Merging both entities would be a mistake, and a nightmare to navigate. Though it can be hard to find a topic to jump in on, it's still possible. One tweak: create general topics (in a box) on a sub page. Depending on what the person clicks, he/she can be zapped straight to a particular area (Entertainment, General Announcements, Daily Rants, etc.)

i don't mind the ilm/e secession being respected in perpetuity, in fact i think it's probably best, but i don't like the presetting of topic areas => it has a chilling effect on the um organic whatevah
