CLASSIC!
the overleaf from your identity page is a weird kitsch collage of a GIANT BALD EAGLE HEAD LOOKING STRAIGHT AT YOU along with the first graf of the preamble to the u.s. constitution (one of the most ambitious and idealistic and practically mystical things ever written).. and beneath that, the place to put your signature! it's as if YOU are signing the constitution! and why not?? we the people, after all!
also, quotes from:
- the mohawk people- anna julia cooper- dr. king- lbj- jfk- eisenhower- teddy r.- washington- the golden spike itself!!

Recently my friend said drunkenly "YEAH! LET's GO TO VANCOUVER on April whatever" and I was like, dude, what are the regulations now? Don't you have to have a passport? The last time I went up there was 2001, I know it's changed since then. Bloody hell, he doesn't even have a birth certificate I don't think. Silly bugger.

I got a new passport just before this came out and was disappointed I didn't get one of these. It's really the Stephen Colbert of passports.

People should be able to make their own passports with crayons, a paste pot, blunt scissors and butcher paper, like we did back when I was young. None of this fancy-schmancy, look-at-me-I-own-a-printing-press stuff.

I really like the new pages featuring the fabulous vistas of America.

When my wife's pa died, one of the things that turned up for remembrance at the services, etc, was his 4-5 passports, each plastered 100% full of stamps and visas and whatnot. They were really great to look at.

when i lost my old (full of great stamps) passport i was told by the consulate that if it were ever recovered they'd have to keep it, for security reasons. six months later i got it in the mail, a hole punch through the swipey thing but the rest intact. Thanks consular officials! I don't think you were supposed to do that but i at least cherish it!

One thing I miss about EU travel now is that you rarely get your passport stamped.

chris i get my U.S. passport stamped at every EU country i go to - isn't it just EU passports that don't get a stamp?
― Tracer Hand, Saturday, 28 March 2009 22:34 (sixteen years ago)
moving w/in shengen countries, with a US passport, you don't get any stamped. leaving the EU this last time they didn't even stamp me out. hell, they didn't even swipe my passport.
― brewster wa (jergins), Saturday, 28 March 2009 22:43 (sixteen years ago)
