Red Sox fans are stupid assmutts. Hey, kids, how about NOT obsessing over the stupid Yankees? And, hey, when the tying run is at the plate, how about cheering for the Sox instead of wasting more phlegm on the 2nd place team?

I think its getting old and annoying, but its fantastic to do when you've drank 75 beers. Plus we have to obsess over the Yankees it's one of the greaterst rivalries in all of sports.

The rivalry can be enjoyed well enough without falling into the Red Sox Nation hogwash Shaughnessy created back in The Day. The Curse of the Bambino is the Curse of Bad Management - selling Babe Ruth; being the LAST team to come around to racial integration as a viable idea; picking up verterans way past their expiration date (from Luis Aparicio to Jack Clark to the dynamic duo of Fonzie Bichette and Mike Lansing, as in PUSTULENT BOIL FESTERING ON MY ASS); gutting the farm system for asscrap in a colostomy bag (bye bye to Bagwell, Tankersley, Rietsma, CURT SCHILLING, for the luvva). And how about those brainfarts in the dugout?

Lou Gorman and the last couple of years w/ Dan Duquette did more to damage the BoSox than any overpaid halfwit thug in pinstripes could ever hope to do. Buying into this cockamamie superstitious Yankees / Red Sox mythology is 99% of the problem with us backassward Sox fans.

It's just a shame that Mr. Darnielle doesn't post to ILE; I'd love to hear his take on the Cubs.

And I apologize for my excessive use of the word referring to the hindquarters of an individual. That's quite uncouth.

Oh the poor Cubbies aka the small bears. My 90 year old grandparents are huge Cubs fan. They holler at the tv when they watch. The Cubs don't quite have the "oh so close" mystique that the Red Socks do. They're more likely to have a "June swoon" when they just totally collapse.

The Yankees are annoying but at least they aren't gay like the Mets.
