An evolution of Fox News Hosts - Who is the worst? , this is a catch-all thread for non-network-specific chatter about the worsening state of 24/7 cable news. Occasional highlights, mostly gripes.
And, as always, Shepard Smith is to be celebrated, worshipped and adored. (!)

God, this MSNBC show with Ed Schultz is terrible. Not enough to make me ask for David Schuster back, but terrible nonetheless. Why can't they just take a 6pm break from editorial shows and put together a really good newscast? And not like the crap they do all afternoon, either.

David Shuster Suspended From MSNBC Indefinitely
Huffington Post | Danny Shea First Posted: 04- 6-10 09:21 AM
MSNBC has suspended David Shuster — again.
But unlike his 2008 suspension over comments that the Hillary Clinton campaign was "pimping out" Chelsea Clinton, which lasted two weeks, this suspension is an indefinite one.
"David has been suspended indefinitely," an MSNBC spokesperson said Tuesday morning.
It was revealed last week that Shuster had filmed a pilot for CNN; at the time, the network had said he would be "punished appropriately." After getting "ripped a new one" by boss Phil Griffin by phone over the weekend, Shuster met with Griffin in the office Monday.
Shuster also came under fire from the network after a tweet he sent to conservative activist James O'Keefe.
"@JamesOKeefeIII a) you are not a journalist b) the truth is you intended to tap her phones c) it's a felony d) you will go to prison," he wrote.
The network deemed that tweet "inappropriate" and muzzled him on Twitter soon thereafter.

I am, but I never even knew where Current was on my cable dial (or if I even had it), so I hope I get to watch it but I don't even know if I will or not.

Part of my switch away from cable back to Directv* was to get this. I might not watch it often, but it'll be nice to have access.
*other reasons: saving money, the NASA channel, HD channels, a DVR

I have been recently hynotized by the Korean show "Slow but Happy Snail" which consists entirely of long, slow shots of four people wandering the South Korean countryside, occasionally punctuated by comedy *boing*-type sound effects. It's not subtitled so I have no idea what any of the dialogue actually consists of. Presumable "oh here are some stairs!" and "what a lovely waterfall!" etc.

I'll believe it when I see it. Olbermann back in primetime on msnbc? I thought they were putting Brian Williams in primetime. Either way, it doesn't look good for Chris Hayes (which is a shame, because he has a better show but it seems like the network has a hard on for Lawrence O'Donnell and would rather keep offering him his hour than the one they've been giving Hayes). If Sharpton and Ed Schultz get kicked to the curb, hurrah. I wish they'd take Chris Matthews with them, but for some reason Hardball is still a thing. The only sure thing here is that Maddow stays where she is.
