iatee, Saturday, 4 April 2009 04:01 (fifteen years ago) link

I give up. How could anyone follow 50 blogs closely enough to have an informed opinion on this?

Aimless, Saturday, 4 April 2009 04:47 (fifteen years ago) link

Whiney G. Weingarten, Saturday, 4 April 2009 05:09 (fifteen years ago) link

The one whose link shows recent activity on my part is 538, so that is how I vote.

sugjust blaze (The Reverend), Saturday, 4 April 2009 05:37 (fifteen years ago) link

i bet he knew you'd vote that way

s1ocki, Saturday, 4 April 2009 05:37 (fifteen years ago) link

he's probably already predicted the results of this poll with +-2.6% accuracy

sugjust blaze (The Reverend), Saturday, 4 April 2009 05:48 (fifteen years ago) link

do not regularly read any of this, will vote for "conscience of a liberal" based on name alone.

ian, Saturday, 4 April 2009 06:06 (fifteen years ago) link

also, shoulda stuck a fluxblog option in imho.

It's interesting that many if not most of the top blogs are extensions of established media outlets or already well-known commentators (CNN, ABC, Krugman, NYT, etc). I suppose it's not surprising, but the vision of a near future in which everyone was getting their news from dudes in their underwear posting from their parent's basements turned out to be unfounded.

haha

s1ocki, Saturday, 4 April 2009 15:26 (fifteen years ago) link

Man, that was so disappointing. I put it all in an Excel spreadsheet, and then I was going to sort alphabetically and paste it into here. But then I got distracted by the rest of the internet, and didn't paste it in alphabetically. A minute later I started a thread on the Mod request forum asking if it was possible to change the order of things.

I must vote with my heart over my conscience. The Corner it is.

threat level and 538 are the only ones that aren't awful, so there's that.

don't read 538 any more. therefore, threat level. had no idea it was so popular.

caek, Saturday, 4 April 2009 17:58 (fifteen years ago) link

Can I just plug Calculated Risk here? It taught me a LOT about the current financial crisis.

steve "no neck" yamaguchi (vermonter), Saturday, 4 April 2009 19:49 (fifteen years ago) link

Plug away!

Calculated Risk

it's going to be very hot, it's going to be very uncomfortable (Z S), Saturday, 4 April 2009 19:52 (fifteen years ago) link

I've never heard of a single one of those blogs.

Mr. Snrub, Saturday, 4 April 2009 20:40 (fifteen years ago) link

When I used to read the Consumerist regularly, I had a dream about how balls Best Buy was, and at this point I decided it was influencing my subconscious too much to continue reading it.

If you hate Comcast & Best Buy, you will like the Consumerist.
