Is anyone else watching this? It seems to be getting exponentially funnier with each episode; this week's (episode 4) was face-meltingly funny.

i missed this week but the first 3 were pretty good. i'm afraid to get too attached because i've liked a lot of similar workplace satires (Working, The Loop, etc.) and they usually tend to get cancelled quickly.

I love the fact that they don't have an opening theme or credits, just those creepy commercials about the theme of the episode.

My wife was in the other room on the phone (I'd worked late and was watching a DVR copy; she'd already seen it) and kept jumping off the phone to ask me if I was okay because I was literally screaming with laughter and "oh no they didn't go there".

Dan did you ever watch Andy Richter Controls The Universe? same creator and the guy who plays Phil was also on there, also really hysterical show.

I love this. But then I am in love with Portia de Rossi.

I didn't catch very much of ARCTU but I loved what I saw.

ya rly, episode 4 vies with 30 Rock as being the funniest fucking thing I've seen on television this season

just an FYI Andy Richter Controls the Universe was just released on DVD like three weeks ago, it is epic and contains NEVER AIRED episodes full of champion lolz.

I haven't watched this show yet but I've been recording it to my DVR, I'm glad to hear it's good.

Cancellation would be really tragic because, even though there were moments in the first episode that were a little too mannered/stilted, this is my favorite show on television right now. I've been saying "Walk away, tall!" to my wife for the past week.

watched last night, didn't seem that special other than the weird fake commercial, which was funny

Last night wasn't as funny as the previous week (you can catch that one on the ABC site). The first two episodes also hinge entirely on whether you think them freezing one of the scientist dudes and him having a screaming problem afterward for several episodes is hilarious (I do).

i dont agree w/ dan that its as funny as 30 rock or how i met your mother, but i definitely laughed out loud at a lot of it, especially the 'black people' episode, and it comes across as the kind of show thats just going to get better as it settles in

i was thinking about it and this is probably the best show to have debuted on one of the big 4 networks since the strike last year, although that's not really saying much.

the last two episodes have been much better than the first two. pilots always seem weird. they're made like months before the show actually starts a production schedule, right? maybe that's why.

the two scientists are consistently funny, and Portia de Rossi kills of course. good stuff.

The main dude in this is like a skinnier, budget version of Jon Hamm

yeah...he's not bad as a narrator/straight man but i kinda wish he wasn't the title character so the inevitable shift of focus to the funnier characters wouldn't be as slow or awkward

I'm just amazed that he's even a little bit funny on this show considering how horrible he was on the US version of "Coupling" so I'm probably cutting him slack he doesn't deserve.

First 20 minutes of the pilot was lame, but it felt like it was picking up steam in the last 5. Looking forward to the others, but I can't find them on torrent.

This is very OTM, and those 5 minutes carry into episode 2 very, very nicely.

The stuff with the scientists is great. We need more of them, more Portia, more corporate evil, less of the kids and the love interest.

I think the love interest is great! I like that she's ostensibly "the normal one", only in actuality she is just a completely different type of crazy. I also loved the interaction between Ted's daughter and Portia.

The corporate meeting where they were talking about some horrible weapon but kept talking about "bunnies" "cuddling" everyone within a 5 mile radius, that was funny shit.

the fact that ABC only ordered half a season's worth of episodes this year, and is burning through them with 2 every week as quickly as possible, doesn't make me feel very optimistic about its future, but at the same time it's been great to have two new episodes every week. Chris Parnell is going to be on one of the new ones tonight!

they occasionally appear, but not every episode though.

yeah...they tend to be toward the end of the episodes instead of popping up near the beginning in the theme song/opening credits spot.

i somehow didn't realize that there was a second season of this until a couple of weeks ago, so that was a pleasant surprise. i like this show. it's pretty dorky in tone/attitude but there are usually about 3-4 amazing jokes and a bunch of good ones per episode.

I'm due a rewatch.

I went to a lecture on racism & technology last fall and the author/prof showed a clip from that ep. I got a bit worried it doesn't read as comedy out of context when I realized I was the only one laughing

but yes, that episode in particular was super prescient
