Newcomer Asylum Home Entertainment has announced its debut high-def release, bringing the direct-to-video prequel 'Transmorphers: Fall of Man' to Blu-ray this June.

Originally released direct-to-video in 2007, the original, 'Transformers'-derivative 'Transmorphers' was a modest hit on DVD but has since earned a cult reputation amongst bad movie lovers.

They should have a mall cop movie by now.

I watched Transmorphers 1 last night. Lots and lots of fast-forwarding was necessary, but it had moments.

Maybe he'll go on to make a proper art house movie about Masters of the Universe or Teddy Ruxpin.

It’s easy to go shoot an art movie in a winery in the South of France. But people have no idea how hard it is to create something like Transformers. They review me before they’ve even seen the movie.”

how awesome that would be if those 3 dudes played everyone in the movie

Has the criticism of Bay's films ever been that they weren't action-y enough? Because he's actually really good at that part. But character development and story cohesion are a major blind spot for that guy.

Johnny Fever, Saturday, 20 June 2009 04:20 (sixteen years ago)

I don't think he's good at that part at all! I mean, compared to even Tony Scott, he pales by comparison.

tony scott's just as bad

latebloomer, Saturday, 20 June 2009 04:57 (sixteen years ago)

michael bay has better car chases than tony scott.

da croupier, Saturday, 20 June 2009 05:02 (sixteen years ago)

To be a good action director, you need to make it clear what is actually going on. Michael Bay cannot do this.

James Morrison, Saturday, 20 June 2009 06:41 (sixteen years ago)

i don't think any current action director can do this tbh. action scenes haven't been coherent or watchable in more than a decade.

speaking in general, there have been some exceptions

incidentally, never watch transmorphers if you're prone to epilepsy as a big white flashing light is just about the only special effect they use in that film..

dog latin, Saturday, 20 June 2009 12:07 (sixteen years ago)

Watched Terminators recently. There's a quality bit of CGI when a guy gets run over by a truck. Also the same guy is multiple terminators (hey! That's the name of the movie!)
