I want him to write about Glam for my little zine , but he is a rock god and i am scared. Can we praise his genius fulsomely

anthony, Sunday, 26 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Sinker's on some next level shit, no doubt. But if he writes for your zine and not mine, I'm gonna hafta get Wm. Henry Shabazz and pop a cap in his fun-fur ass.

Thanks for lending me the Buffy book Mark!

Sarah, Monday, 27 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i think this probably counts as asking him, anthony.

i want mark s to write about tool. but only because yesterday i became obsessed with tool (like, wtf?) and now i want EVERYONE to write about them.

toby, Monday, 27 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Toby, look out for my forthcoming aesthetic link-up between "Lateralus" and the new El-P album.

Should pop up on Church of Me sometime over the holiday weekend. I'm planning to make it a triple-header with "The Eminem Show" but obviously need to listen to the latter properly first.

Marcello Carlin, Monday, 27 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I only like Tool's debut EP thing...I forget the title...but "Cold and Ugly" is a great song. I was never really convinced by Lateralus, no immediate impact.

Oh, and hip hip hooray for Mark S, and his magical Oh no! Oh NO's!

jel --, Monday, 27 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

(i shd have pointed out that mark s = grate btw, what with that being the point of this thread; although i still have a few doubts about concrete so as to self-destruct (v minor doubts - it is obv ace))

toby, Monday, 27 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

But Tool can't be any good. They're American to start with.

Dr. C, Monday, 27 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Boo hiss, Dr C. Tool is one of the few metal acts out there I genuinely like (even if I do feel that heir best material is on the "Opiate" EP and _Undertow_).

Dan Perry, Monday, 27 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

yesterday i became obsessed with tool (like, wtf?)

Good boy. Let it consume you whole. And I'm already intrigued greatly by Marcello's combination, having heard all three discs...

Ned Raggett, Monday, 27 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I like a perfect circle though!

jel --, Monday, 27 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Then that is good too.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 27 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

mark s: stalking a webdiary near you! ;-)

di, Monday, 27 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i only stalk the ones which are well written di!! (and no, i nevah sleeeeeep)

mark s, Monday, 27 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

phewww.

di, Monday, 27 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

getting back to tool, i 'm quite intrigued by marcello's article - i can see the el-p/tool connextion (well, i can see a connection), but i'll be intrigued to see how you tie in eminem.

evidence that i am turning into ned: yesterday i not only downloaded tool bootlegs and listened to them over+over again, i also went through my cupboards digging out old smashing pumpkins + cure bootlegs.

aarrrgghhh i fear i may be a goth.

toby, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Don't they both address or at least circle around the family issue (and abuse)?

cuba libre (nathalie), Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

My guts are SHRIEKING for my Cure singles collection thing to be returned to me. This is ENTIRELY the fault of one of those "REAL PUNK! NOW AVALIABLE AT WOOLWORTHS!!" kollektions which has a brief clip of 'Boys Don't Cry' on it.

Sarah, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

aarrrgghhh i fear i may be a goth.

ONE OF US, ONE OF US.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i went sarong shopping again today (i am getting addicted to buying them) and bought a BLACK SARONG. it is very very goth.

toby, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

back on topic: i just realised that i have been influenced by mark s!!

except it is not for the best i fear - my rereadings of concrete so as to self-destruct led me to pondering my pulling technique at great length, to the extent that it collapsed under such intense examination! oh no!! mark s has ruined my sex life!!!

toby, Thursday, 30 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh dear. Toby is going from goth to indie.

Dan Perry, Thursday, 30 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

What if God was one of us, just a goth like one of us!

jel --, Thursday, 30 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

OH NO!!

luckily there is no such thing as the i-word so it it is totally NOT MY FAULT toby

mark s, Thursday, 30 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

that is exactly why i used the "i" word mark!!

christ the thought of going indie is way more scary than the idea of going goth. actually at the mo i am more concerned that i am going to turn into a big brother/world cup addict. oh no oh no.

toby, Friday, 31 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Too late. So Senegal then...

Ned Raggett, Friday, 31 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)
