Never got over Hammy Hamster launching into the "Rivers of Blood" speech in the middle of Tales of the Riverbank after Berti and Herbi pushed Guinea Pig shit thru his letterbox.

Carbon dioxide is half as heavy as air again. It falls to the ground and it feeds the plants. A tree is made of CO2, it puts the oxygen back into the atmosphere and takes the carbon. 85% of every tree is CO2...When you're talking about CO2 you're helping the plants, you could say you're greening the planet."
not seeing how this is "wtf fallacy", it's just missing the point. the other criticism made of him re scientific consensus also seems kneejerk/unreasonable.

I think it's because it's asinine GCSE science in a field he patently knows fuck all about.

i don't "get" the point about scientific consensus. they seem to be saying that other times the consensus was shattered, it was because prior scientists *didn't use evidence* or something equally dumm.

85% of every tree is not CO2? that does sound like something you could make up i guess
― Hard House SugBanton (blueski), Wednesday, 15 April 2009 11:49 (seventeen years ago)
60-70 percent of the human body is water so if you hold somebody's head down the toilet you are helping them to breathe.
― Passantino Complexion (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 15 April 2009 11:54 (seventeen years ago)
85% of every tree is not CO2 or else you would have to tether them to the ground to stop them floating away.
― The Unbearable Skegness of Being (NickB), Wednesday, 15 April 2009 11:54 (seventeen years ago)
that is the only reason trees have roots
― Hard House SugBanton (blueski), Wednesday, 15 April 2009 11:58 (seventeen years ago)
It's only cos the Earth has so many trees attached to it that it can float in space. If you chop down the forests, the planet would sink to the bottom of the galaxy.

the scientific consensus point he makes is vague at the very best, and stupid at worst. was he sitting on a chair when he made that point? how did they construct the building he was in?
