i don't "get" the point about scientific consensus. they seem to be saying that other times the consensus was shattered, it was because prior scientists *didn't use evidence* or something equally dumm.

It's only cos the Earth has so many trees attached to it that it can float in space. If you chop down the forests, the planet would sink to the bottom of the galaxy.
